“Autumn walk”

Great walk from Grasmere in about two hours. Parking is not easy in Grasmere but an excellent bus service that accepts pensioner's free passes makes it ideal.

“Great walk”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 24, 2012

stayed in Grasmere and decided to take a walk up to the tarn and then over the top of the mountain and back down, it was a great walk but got a little lost coming back down, but found the route that hadent been used for in a while, it was stunning and not to be missed

“Excellent walk!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 21, 2012

This is a great walk for those active but not ultra fit walkers like me! Beautiful scenery, bit of uphill to stretch your lungs, a well maintained path with lots of stepping stones through boggy bits and easily manageable in a morning or an afternoon.

“An enjoyable walk, not too far”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 14, 2012

We love this walk - it is ideal on a cloudy day and the views from the Tarn are beautiful. It is not too challenging. On the accent you walk beside a lovely falling beck and after lunch by the Tarn you can descend on the other side taking in an entirely different aspect. We can thoroughly recommend it, Strong footwear is a must.

“Simply stunning”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 14, 2012

Steady walk with a couple of challenging slopes but nothing that should put you off. It well worth the effort to get to the Tarn which is stunning and calm. Watch out for the stepping stones that start the return journey, they can be a bit slippy but we watched over a dozen people manage them before going ourselves.
