“Excellent hotel”
Reviewed October 23, 2013

Booked our two night stay through secret escapes and have to say what an excellent hotel. The staff were helpful and friendly. Our room, whilst did not have a lake view was luxurious and very well kept. The "buffet" style breakfast was just to our liking with plenty of variety and everything cooked perfectly.
Whilst we did not use the Spa facilities, we could not fault the hotel in any way and will most definately be back.

Stayed here night before a wedding being held in grasmere. It's deceiving from the outside - free car park. 15 minutes walk from centre of grasmere rooms are very modern and spacious clean and luxurious we had a beautiful view. The restaurant is a la carte and high spec. Very friendly staff and all my gluten free requirements were attended. Would recommend.

My sister and I visited the spa facilities in October 2012 and had an underwhelming experience. I shared my concerns with the spa manager and was delighted that when my sister and I returned in October 2013, all the teething issues we had experienced had been addressed.

We were greeted very warmly by Gosia, the Spa Manager and we were looked after very well throughout our visit. The treatments we received were first class.

I would highly recommend a visit to the spa facilities if you are ever visiting the area.

we have just got home from our first visit to the daffodil. When we arrived we were greeted by very smart and pleasant receptionists. We stayed in room 112 which had a great view of the lion and the lamb, the bed and the bath were enormous. We totally relaxed in the thermal pool and steam room before enjoying an amazing meal in the evening. The breakfasts were also fantastic with plenty of choice. We cant wait to go again.

We have just returned from our first time at The Daffodil. It has very modern look when you get inside, bright and clean lines are on show with spacious seating areas. We had a warm cheery welcome from reception, always a good start. Our room was on the 3rd floor No 314 it had a view of Grasmere and the hills, the room was bright and spacious and cleaned to a high standard. Our Bathroom was of a good size separate power shower cubicle and large bath with w/c nicely tiled walls and floor. The breakfast was a buffet type, and what we had was nice and fresh tasting and good quality you could even order poached eggs on request. We used the hotel spa pool, sauna and steam room and all were roomy and very good and relaxing. We didn't eat in the restaurant and choose to eat in the village on both nights. Can advise a great little bistro called Sara's just past the coop, food is superb eat early 6 to 7 and you get a bottle of Hardy's for a fiver. Tweedies is always good for a pint or two of real ale. Overall we had a superb anniversary weekend stay the room was nice and quite at night, shame about the weather!!

Room Tip: Smile and ask politely.

From the moment we arrived at The Daffodil Hotel & Spa, we fell in love with the place… Such a wonderful location on the shores of beautiful Grasmere. A fantastic place to spend a weekend break.

We were greeted warmly by very welcoming receptionists and headed to our extremely well appointed lake view suite. The décor was immaculate and the double bed enormous. The en-suite was modern, clean and spacious with Molton Brown toiletries… True luxury. The large flat screen “smart” TV on the wall out-smarted me, as I couldn’t work out how to dis-engage the subtitles!

We thoroughly enjoyed the Spa facilities and thoroughly welcomed the Steam Room after a long days walk.

We dined in the restaurant on the Saturday evening and we were delighted we did. A gorgeous menu and the steaks were to die for. The very attentive restaurant staff could not do enough to help.

To sum up our Saturday, Wordsworth once wrote: “One of those heavenly days that cannot die”.

We will definitely be returning soon.

Room Tip: I would thoroughly recommend a lake view room.

just had a lovely stay at this modern style renovated hotel. the bedroom was lovely with a valley view. the staff were very good even though the hotel was full. the only downfall probably was the sitting room and bar area which rather lacked character, but please don't be put off this is a lovely beautiful hotel and worth a visit. we had three meals over two days plus breakfasts and they were very good.

Room Tip: lake view room or valley view room
