never been met by such a rude man before. We wandered down to see what the setup was, nice boats gypsy caravan and potting shed type restaurant, before we even took our seats, was told that we could not take photos without a purchase, such a gruff man he does not deserve any trade, embarrassed by how rude he was , Sorry but his business does not deserve to flourish.

visited this tearoom with 4 friends after a long picturesque walk we were served by a very helpful young man and purchased pots of tea and cakes for all we settled down to enjoy but were asked to leave 20 mins later by a very rude older man we explained that we had not finished our drinks but were told that we had had 20 mins which was more than enough time to have consumed our food and drinks i explained that i had a pot of fruit tea which was very hot he said tough you have had more than enough time to drink it !! he stated he had a meal booked in Bowness with his daughter at 6pm it was 5-20pm the gate was locked and doors closed around us and we had no option but to leave and leave our drinks unfinished we were all extremely upset and disgusted by his attitude. We were also quite shocked by the smelly toilet which needed a good clean will never return or recommend this place

Lovely little tea room & row boat set up. First place your tired feet stumble upon after long walk from Rydal. Nice food & drinks, I had the pink faery juice, very nice. Unfortunately couldn't go boating as too long a queue. Setting could not be better with lake & stunning fell backdrop, but felt place needed a 'spruce up' and could be so much more, just felt a bit tired especially loos.

Staff friendly, knowledgeable, and the service was great. Bacon and sausage butties would be an ace addition, and am sure the smell would tempt even more people in of a morning.
