We have just spent four nights at this excellent hotel. Our room, De Quincey, was comfortable and spacious, with a well appointed modern bathroom. The hotel was extremely clean and tastefully decorated throughout.
We enjoyed the evening meals which were delicious and beautifully presented. One of our group was lactose intolerant and Rob and Anton went to great lengths to cater for this diet ,even down to the after dinner chocolates. What a treat!
The service from all the staff was helpful and friendly.
We shall certainly look forward to staying here again in the future.

My wife and I (& our dog) visited The Grasmere Hotel for three nights. What a wonderful hotel!!
Our room was 'Dorothy' on the ground floor and we were welcomed into the the hotel by the attentive host Rob, who showed us to our room and explained (quite rightly) the hotel rules re dogs.
Our room was perfect for us with a very comfortable extra king size bed (separate zipped mattresses - We will be getting one for home!!)
We stayed on a dinner, B & B basis and this suited us perfectly as we were spending our days walking the hills.
Our evening meals started with an aperitif in the very comfortable drawing room accompanied by homemade canapés. We were able to peruse the menu at our leisure and the orders were taken. When it suited us, we were taken to the dining room that had views of the gardens. The staff were attentive without being in anyway overbearing. They were perfect!! The evening meals (four courses, à la carte) were superb.
Walks in the Lake District are a delight but were made all the better by a stay at The Grasmere Hotel.

This was the first time we have stayed at Grasmere hotel, and indeed what a little gem it is! From the moment we crossed the threshold we were welcomed into the fold by a wonderful caring and efficient team led by Rob and Anton. All of our needs were met above and beyond all of our wishes.
The hotel has beautiful décor, is spotless, and is so cosy and comfortable, encouraging us to relax and enjoy from the moment we arrived.
The food is just amazing, lovingly and carefully prepared, each plate presented to us was a pleasure to the eye and a treat to the taste buds!

It was an enjoyment to sit back and watch this professional team work, I certainly got the impression that the needs of the guests are extremely important, we felt so looked after and so chilled that we were almost horizontal by the time we left your wonderful establishment. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, we appreciated all that you provided and all that you did for us more than you will ever know!

My sister and I spent 5 days at the Grasmere Hotel and it was all we expected, and more. The room was very comfortable and had all the amenities we wanted; the staff were all very professional and the food was wonderful. We enjoyed the excellent breakfasts and dinners and the menu variety and presentation were both great. We also had some excellent help regarding walks in the area from Rob, one of the owners.
All in all, it was a super 5 days and both of us would highly recommend the Grasmere to our friends and, one day, would love to return for another visit. .

We had a great stay at the Grasmere Hotel. The room was comfortable and clean, the food excellent (and excellent value too) and the staff attentive and efficient. Given that the area is quite busy the quiet garden was a real bonus on hot afternoons for relaxing with a glass of wine. Highly recommended!
