St. Oswald's was Wordsworth's church when he lived at Dove Cottage with his sister, Dorothy. The lovely ancient churchyard is his and the family's burial sites. The old yews, bluebells in May, the glorious rhododendron offer reverence and timelessness to the experience. The little Church is precious as well; they have beautiful postcards and books and additionally much history of the Church especially during Wordsworth's time.

A great place to go to see the grave and the garden, well laid out and maintained, the church wasn't open when we were there (a bit late in the evening!) but it was beautiful grounds and setting.

St.Oswalds church is nice place to take a little time out for some quiet reflection although this can be difficult at some time of year as it gets busy with lots of tourists.Interesting name plaques abound in the grounds of the church !
