Came back for a return visit with friends. Al, the guide, was very knowledgeable and very easy to listen to. Happy to answer questions. 2 rooms were toasty warm with the fires lit and the house and surrounding lane had a lovely smell of coal fires. It was raining but still enjoyed a quick look at the gardens. Easy parking, although I think we've just been lucky on both occasions to park easily.Combined with a visit earlier in the week to Wordsworth house, a really enjoyable visit.

Lots of interesting facts and articles from Wordsworth's time including portraits. Interactive activities for children included but it might be too much like a school trip for them!

It is only a small house but very lovely - with the exception of the children's bedroom - eerie and cold!!! A good insight to how people lived in the early 1800's. Certainly worthy of a visit.

Great place to visit. Dove cottage guided tour. Excellent guide, very informative, great for history buffs, and poetry followers. A recommend to all. Museum next door also worth a visit.
