I never thought I will have such pleasant time in cottage. It was our first this kind of experience and I am stunned. Such lovely well maintained and cosy place. Has everything you need. Very comfortable beds, nice clean bathroom. Location is really good. At first I thought it would be far from Lake District places to see but then actually is really close if you have a car of course . Steve is very helpful and recommend us some nice places to see. Definitely will come back there again to stay for longer. The views are really nice too. Recommend 100%.
Lovely cottage, would certainly comeback. Well equipt and clean. Warm and confortable, nice location surrounded by nature. Steve, the host, is very helpful and replies to any questions promptly, gave us plenty of useful information about the area and the property. The only negative point is regarding cancellation terms, this was not clear in T&Cs at the time of booking. According to tripadvisor Steve has the most strict terms. I did not have a problem as thankfully I was able to make the trip however keep in mind if you are booking well in advance as it is completely non-refundable.
My husband and I had a great stay with our 2 dogs. The cottage is lovely, downstairs has a lot of the original features with a nice modern bathroom and bedrooms upstairs.
It had everything we needed including a a fully fenced in cute little back garden which unfortunately we didn't have the time or weather to use but was lovely to look out on none the less.
Nice and quiet location in Lowes Bridge and only about a 5/10 min drive into Coniston.
Steve had provided loads of local information including walks and restaurants (including menus) nearby which was great to have and came in very useful.
Would definitely recommend!
Our stay at Swangs was very memorable would recommend to others, the cottage is very quaint and steeped in history no doubt. The cottage was very well equipped and clean with comfy beds, I think we need to improve our fire making skills though. We visited Tarn How and enjoyed the walk around the Tarn, Coniston lake was also spectacular especially enjoyed aboard a steam powered gondola with a pit stop for delicious food at John Ruskin's House and Museum very interesting place with fantastic views of surrounding mountains and dales. We finished our stay with a visit to lake Windemere it was enjoyable in the rain so can imagine in good weather it is spectacular.
