“Well equipped and peaceful”
Reviewed September 26, 2016 for a stay in September 2016

Tithe Cottage was as described by the owners Rolf & Anghie Cooley. It is well equipped with comfortable beds but lacking in the lounge suite comfort department. There is a poor wireless signal upstairs and none downstairs so very little to disturb the peace & quiet in this lovely rural location. WiFi was available and worked well, albeit slowly. There is easy access to Cockermouth and beyond using the A66.

Our location is rural but with easy access to Cockermouth and A66. We continue to try and get better Wi-fi - it's there but not up to the speeds you can obtain in some more built up areas

“Spacious, clean and well-equipped barn conversion run by welcoming family.”
Reviewed August 30, 2016 for a stay in August 2016

We loved this place. It was a little remote (which suited us) but Cockermouth is only 3.5 miles away (no problem to get a take-away back before it gets cold) and there are pubs closer. Whinlatter Forest Park (great for cycling and walking) is only about a 20 min drive.

In terms of the accommodation, the kitchen was large and well-furbished. Everything we needed was provided - as well as some appliances we didn't use. The three bedrooms were spacious and well thought out. the two showers very powerful, getting you clean quickly and effectively.

The welcome pack was very good. There were cookies, biscuits, milk, tea bags and coffee, together with fresh cut flowers - a nice touch. Fresh free range eggs can be bought from a box near the gate. the only things I'd say that could be improved is that some of the information in the extensive pack could be more up-to-date, especially some of the take away menus.

Overall, this cottage rates highly for cleanliness, size, equipment, service, and represents excellent value for money. We'd definitely consider staying there again.
