Another fabulous stay. Peaceful, Relaxing and a stones throw from fabulous walking in the Lakes. Everything you could possibly need with no fuss at all. My second stay here and I'll be back later this year..
Stayed here for a week from 20/8/16 to 27/8/16. Beautiful cottage, beautifully decorated. Very modern. Set over 3 levels it's very spacious. It's in the style of a townhouse.
We didn't get to meet Marion as she was on holiday herself, but her mum Pauline was there and was only to happy to help with anything.
There was a lovely hamper in the cottage on arrival. Freshly baked bread, homemade jam and biscuits, tea ,coffee, eggs, milk and butter. What a lovely gesture! You can buy fresh eggs, jams, butter etc and it's lovely that there is "honesty" boxes to put the money in when purchasing!
Squirrels Drey is on a working farm literally in the middle of no where. I would say you could no way visit without a car!!!
As it's a working farm there is a real problem with flies and wasps through the summer months. There was a can of fly spray and a fly squatter under the sink in the cottage.
Very peaceful setting and lovely lovely scenery. Cockermouth approx a 4-5 mile drive away. That's the nearest town with shops, supermarkets etc.
Sat nav essential I would say!!!
Right next to the cottage is the games room. Ideal for my 16 year old who loves playing pool. Couldn't work out how to use the juke box however! The pool is 50p a game though so we had to stock up on our 50p's.
There is a free washer on site the dryer is £1.00 for half an hour but to be honest I didn't Think it was very good! There is a washing line and pegs in the cottage tho if weather is nice.
I would highly recommend a visit here and a perfect location to get away from it all.
Keswick is a lovely town only about a 20 minute drive away. Whinlatter forest park is gorgeous and only about a 15 minute drive. We had a lovely boat trip around derwent water and that is at Keswick.
Lots to do and see and great for families as well as a great getaway for couples
Great base to explore North Lakes. Beautiful cottage, very high quality and very clean. Lovely welcome pack with homemade bread, jam, milk, butter, eggs etc- just great. Travelled with teen-ager and adult children and the games room was brilliant - darts, pool, table football and xbox went down a storm . Thanks very much Marion and Pauline
Squirrels Drey is a perfect holiday rental. It was very clean, tastefully furnished, spacious and well equipped. We would highly recommend it.
We stayed in squirrel's drey it was lovely spotless snd everything you could want.
views were amazing, we would stay again.

Just got home from a fantastic relaxing weekend at the squirrels drey cottage, lovely owners that did everything possible to make our stay enjoyable, even when the water froze, bringing bottles of water was a nice touch and made you feel that bit more welcome. Can't wait to return with the little ones in the summer
We stayed here for 2 nights at the start of November. From us arriving Monday afternoon to leaving Wednesday morning we had an amazing experience. The cottage is located in a secluded area out of the way of everything. The only noise you will hear is from the farm animals! The cottage was clean, spacious & very accommodating, it has just about everything you need. I would definitely recommend to a friend & will be returning in the future.

Also if you are using a sat nav don't put in the postcode it doesn't work use the coordinates sent to you in the welcome pack!
