We were at Cockermouth for our sons wedding.
We stayed at the Rose Cottage with our other son and is wife we had two rooms.

The rose cottage is in a quite area about 10 min walk into Cockermouth. The guest house as parking as well. It is a lovely old building and the garden are very well maintained.
The guest house as a lounge and a dinning room and like the outside very well maintained.
Our bedroom had an on suite shower room tea and coffee and a tv.a bit on the small side but it was lovely and clean like the rest of the building.

The breakfast was very good with cerials fruit juices and the hot breakfast as well.

The owners were very friendly and made us feel welcome.

A B&B of the highest quality run by Sue and John Graham who are absolute cards.
Very clean rooms with a great breakfast and I am led to believe very high quality evening meals if you want to eat in at night.
It is well appointed about a 10 minute walk from Cockermouth town centre and very, very peaceful.
The only negatives are some of the double beds are actually two single mattresses pushed together which could make for an uncomfortable nights sleep and breakfast is not served before 7.30am sharp which could be a little late for some business travellers. This should not, however stop you staying here.

We've stayed twice at Rose Cottage and were very pleased on both occasions. The rooms are comfortable but unfussy and ours offered generous space (some others appear smaller). There is some traffic noise from the road outside but the windows offer good sound insulation. The English breakfast was ample and well-cooked. Overall, good value for money.
