If you are looking for a place to stay in the lake district this is it.

Lorton village pub is close by, which i can recommened.

Having stayed at Graysonside B & B in the past we were pleasantly surprised to be offered the recently added 2 bedroomed lodge for our recent 4 night stay with our Trainee Guide dog. It really was home from home, warm, spacious and comfortable. En suite shower room to the master bedroom and a 2nd bathroom. Well equipped kitchen complete with dishwasher . Everything you could want for a long or short break.

Breakfast is still available in the main house if required and our hosts were their usual helpful and caring selves.

Can not recommend enough. ( Cant wait to go back !! )

Janette and Andrew are wonderful hosts and they serve the best breakfasts in the Lakes! The rooms are spotlessly clean and very comfortable and offer very good value for money. Always our first choice.

Stayed at Graysonside a few times with work, but more recently I've returned two years running with my wife. Andrew and Jeanette are exceptionally friendly. The location is ideal for exploring the north lakes, being a stone's throw from Buttermere, Grassmoor etc. Rooms are superb as are the breakfasts....We'll be back sometime soon.

Room Tip: Ask for the "suite" - thinks it's room 6. You get your own little lounge area..

stayed one nite on a work trip. the room was excellent and the bed (a four poster) very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Bathroom was fine appart from the shower which didn;t exactly pin you to the wall with its high pressure spray. Breakfast was excellent. it is situated a mile or so from cockermouth - the raod to town has no lights or pavement so only suitable for walking into the town in the summer.

We have stayed at Graysonside on a number of occasions in recent years, usually for 3/4 nights.
The accommodation is invariably spotlessly clean and the friendly owners, Jeanette and Andrew, go out of their way to ensure that guests have a memorable stay. There are excellent choices on the breakfast menu, the 2 dining rooms have well spaced tables, ideal for guests who prefer not to eat communally at one large table - a feature commonplace elsewhere. Relaxation in a wonderful rural setting yet only a couple of miles from the centre of Cockermouth - wonderful!

Room Tip: Ground floor barn conversions to the side of the front entrance.
