We stayed for 2 nights at the start of September. We arrived in the rain after a 3 hour drive feeling mildly glum, but as soon as we got to the pitch I was as giddy as anything, the view from our tent was amazing, and the tents were all spaced out enough to enjoy a bit of privacy. We camped in the woodland lake view, which seemed a bit pricey but totally worth it just for the view alone - we even sat in the drizzle quite contentedly for the evening once we were set up, looking out at the lake. The toilet/shower blocks were nice ,although there was only 2 showers between everyone using our block (which was quite a few people!) so chances are you'd have to wait but this wasnt a problem unless youre super impatient! They were always clean other than every now any again there were muddy footprints on the floor but this is to be expected on a campsite! I also enjoyed the fact that you book a particular pitch so your spot is safe until you arrive, no first come first served on the winning spots! However don't come here if you expect to find a pub around the corner, most attractions are a long walk or a car drive away, although we didn't find this a bother!
Heaven, definitely going back for longer next year.More
