“So good we came back!”

So good last year we came back and had another fantastic week. With extended family the cottage works really well - plenty of space to be together or to have your own space. Really well equipped cottage - just love that you never run out of clean mugs or cutlery. Comfortable in every way and with beautiful views and short but steep stroll down to town means everyone has their independence. Highly recommended.

So pleased you returned and hope to do so again. Always so much to do and the 'secret spaces' in the cottage do make it ideal for extended or multiple families

“Beautiful!”
Reviewed August 5, 2014 for a stay in July 2014

This house is second to none. Beautiful, cosy, quirky and exciting and has all that you need. It is situated in a peaceful and calm area just a ten minutes walk to the nice little town of Ambleside.
The fantastically landscaped terraced patio garden is something very special and awesome too; from the most upper level you've got the most stunning views to the Langdale fells and all the other fells around too.
The owners are very kind and helpful and I recommend you to book this fantastic house! But not until we have chosen and booked our next stay there...

Reviewed June 16, 2014 for a stay in June 2014

Came up for the Great North Swim and Seathwaite cottage was perfect. Great location, lovely big property which is very tastefully furnished. Really well equipped with everything that we needed. Beds were very comfy and all very good sized rooms. Excellent communication with owners and I can safely say, we will be back again. Thank you

“Lovely house ,beautiful garden and close to town centre”

We had a great week in this large old cottage which has a lot of character so even with 9 of us you could still find a quiet spot. The children's hide and seek games could go on and on. They loved the house and the amazing garden and really did not want to leave.
The property was very well equipped and cosy for such a large place. Our family consisted of 6 adults ,an 8 yr old 7 yr and 5 yr old .My husband and I had the downstairs room 'granny annex' we called it.It was certainly quiet for us as the grandchildren were too busy having fun. A great time was had by all and with the weather being so good we made good use of Ambleside park. Lake Windermere is 10 minutes by car and or a pleasant 25 minutes walk.
Coniston water and Ullswater are both fairly short drives away .We all came home chilled.

“An extremely comfortable cottage”

We stayed at Seathwaite Cottage in March 2014 and found it to be extremely comfortable. It is particularly suitable for a family with grown up children allowing everyone to be together, or to have their own space. The location, close enough to walk into Ambleside but far enough away to enjoy the peace of the countryside, is perfect. We have booked to go again next year.

“A really comfortable, homely cottage with excellent facilities”
Reviewed February 28, 2014 for a stay in February 2014

We stayed here for a long weekend in early February and were immediately impressed by the warm, homely nature of the cottage, It's actually two cottages knocked together and this gives the place a bit of a quirky feel. The downstairs rooms seem a little small for a cottage of this size but there are endless nooks and crannies where you can find a comfy space and relax, The upstairs is amazing!...four poster beds, a balcony overlooking the garden, luxurious bathrooms, fell views and bags of charm. All this within a 10 minute stroll of downtown Ambleside....the hike back up takes a little longer but it's well worth it!

Thank you for your lovely comments. So pleased you enjoyed the cottage and felt at home. We hope to see you again.

As a point of interest, it is only one original cottage which has been extended into the adjoining barn, providing the additional ground floor bedrooms, ground floor shower room and first floor Studio.

As you say, lots of cosy places to hide away!

“Book it!!”
Reviewed February 27, 2014 for a stay in January 2014

We stayed at Seathwaite Cottage for the weekend in January. As soon as we arrived and stepped foot inside the cottage we all felt instantly at home. It really is a beautiful place. The cottage boasts fantastic views, and is in a perfect location, being a 10 minute downhill walk into the centre of Ambleside. The garden is amazing and I would love to see it in the summer time. The house is very well stocked with everything that you need for a comfortable stay, the owners really have thought of everything, there was also a cupboard full of games /jigsawsor the whole family to enjoy. My teenage daughter especially liked the little studio room at the end of the cottage, a great place for her to read and have her own space. The owners were great in every way, and replied to my many questions very quickly. I was so sad to leave the cottage and can’t wait to return. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend . Book it, you won’t regret it.
