“Good chippy”
Reviewed February 16, 2013 via mobile

We've eaten here a few times and it's been consistent. The food is good. A bit expensive for a chippy but that's to be expected in the Lake District. Very recommendable.

Note: it's only an extra 40 pence per person to eat in as opposed to take away. Definitely worth it!

“Good traditional fish and chips”
Reviewed February 16, 2013

Popped in for lunch en route to the hills and in need of some sustaining fodder to power me above the snow line. Service wan't effusive but there was nothing wrong with it. Freshly cooked fish in crispy batter and decent chips, ate every scrap of it! They let you put on your own salt and vinegar too, pet hate when you get given two shakes of the vinegar bottle......

“The worst fish and chips I've ever had!”
Reviewed January 8, 2013 via mobile

There isn't really a lot to say about this place other than the following:
Greasy fish that was in a very chewy tough batter and was a very very small fillet
Dry chips that were hard and brittle
Overpriced
Disappointing
Made me feel sick
Wishes id gone to tesco and grabbed a sandwich and some crisps!

Clean friendly shop with indoor seating area for those rainy days and a wide choice of food. A place you must visit.

“Good Chippy”

Visited her for a quick take away after a day's walking. The Fish was nice the chips a quite scrappy the service ok, you can eat in for an extra 40p per person which I thought a good deal. Pretty good for the price paid, couldn't complain but would give the other place a try next time. Seems to be run by Poles which is no bad thing.
