Before we booked this restaurant we checked the reviews on Trip Advisor. The vast majority...apart from sayitasitis81.... were good so we decided to go. We had a wonderful evening. The food was superb and the service was faultless.
A great deal of effort and flair has gone into the decor of the place and it creates a perfect ambiance.
Having eaten a great deal of Thai food....both in this country and in Thailand I am staggered at the comments by sayitasitis81 who arrogantly states that anyone who doesn't agree with his view must necessarily be a novice. Not so.
Please give this restaurant a try.... You will have great food and lovely service. What more could you want?

Visited Jintana on bank holiday, was a little cautious after reading a view claiming the food was 'claggy gloop' but read so many positive reviews we thought we'd give the place a try...and so glad we did!!

The service was excellent, friendly and very attentive, as a suffer from a nut allergy i was glad for waitress expert help on what dishes should be avoided.

The food was fantastic, very fresh and tasty my partner and i shared a few dishes and couldn't decide which we liked the best.

Highly recommend calling in when in Ambleside.

Decided to go for a meal on Friday night on a visit to Ambleside. It was very busy inside but we were promptly found a table. Service was excellent. We had beautiful non-alcoholic cocktails and the waitress gave excellent recommendations for the main meal. The food itself was fresh, hot and delicious. it was clearly made with good quality ingredients (try the King prawns in thai red coconut curry sauce!). The manager came round to ask everyone how their meal was. The atmosphere was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit-we were even tempted to go again the next night! We shall certainly visit again.

On the first night, the manager replied in an exceptionally rude manner that they could not seat us for up to an hour, it was torrential rain outside but having decided we really weren't up for rude service, we left. After dining at Sheila's Cottage up the road ( which was fantastic) we booked a table at Jintana for the following evening.

Overall - poor show.

Food - mediocre at best, small portions. 4 small spring rolls after a 45 minute wait.

Value - same as other Thai cuisine.

Service - waited 1 1/2 hours for food, grew increasingly impatient eventually telling the manager that I could have cooked the food faster myself! I don't normally complain about anything, but this was too much, ordered at 7.10 and ate at 8.40. Even paying the bill was slow.

Atmosphere - besides the woman laughing like a hyena sat next to us, it was ok, lack of music and waiters shouting to each other across the restaurant.
