Just home from a week's stay at the lovely Pudding Cottage. It was exactly as advertised and lived up to all expectations. It worked really well in terms of location and the house itself was large and very comfortable for a holiday with a toddler and visiting friends and grandparents.
Angela the owner made us very welcome. Beautiful cottage with everything you could possibly need, including for our large dog. I have booked again for 2018 can't wait to return. Thank you for a lovely stay. Also their lovely restaurant should be visited.
Beautiful cottage. Beautiful aspect. 5 minute walk across A591 to Brockhole. My 3 children loved the tree treking, treetop nets and the Brave the cave. We also took a boat ride to Ambleside. We ate at the watersedge inn twice here. The food was fabulous and the bonus was that they allowed dogs. we then hopped back on the boat to Wray castle. The friendly gardeners got our children involved in planting daffodil bulbs which was a lovely touch. we booked the indoor climbing wall in Ambelside on a wet day which was a really good place too. The cottage itself is quality throughout, My boys loved the xbox and variety of games and dvd. We didnt use the leisure club as we wanted more of an outdoors week. The cottage is homely and warm. No issue with hot water when showering and bathing as the super duper boiler means constant instant hot water available. I had a few niggles over the cleaners more than the cottage. Just minor things like the dishwasher filter being completley full of rice and in desperate need of a good clean, which i gave it. I have fed this back to Sue so that she is able to take this up with the cleaners. The pots, pans, crockery etc, is all top quality and plenty of them. We absolutely loved it here and are already looking at returning in the spring.
Spent a few days here at the end of September to go mountain biking and had a lovely stay. Location is spot on - decent riding out the door, within walking distance of Ambleside and very close to the bus stop if you don't want to walk. The cottage itself is very nice, with a nice big living room and kitchen, and comfy beds. Will definitely stay again!
We stayed for a week in September and despite some pretty miserable weather we had a great time. It was a fantastic holiday for our 2 year old - the location is brilliant, right opposite Brockhole visitor centre with a big playground, good cafe and place to pick up boats and the cottage itself is really well equipped with so many toys, kids crockery and cutlery etc. Really impressed with the space and the kitchen equipment too. The membership for the leisure centre was another huge bonus, particularly for a rainy day activity. We will definitely be back!
We have just returned form a short stay in Pudding Cottage. The home is beautifully kept, modern, spotlessly clean, spacious and has every amenity you could wish for, including free Wi-Fi. The location is fabulous, in a tranquil setting but close to great amenities such as Brockhole - The Lake District Visitor Centre and only a short stroll to the shores of Windermere. There are superb walks right on the doorstep and the lovely sunny patio overlooking the gardens at the back was a real bonus. During our stay we were also lucky enough to see two wild deer just in front of the property.
For anyone with a dog the fenced off patio at the rear is also ideal.
We stayed at Pudding Cottage for a week in early April 2017 and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The cottage is very comfortable, well laid out with easy access to Ambleside and Windermere. It was very well equipped with all the normal appliances and lots of extras for rainy days, families with young children etc. Our children aged 8 and 10 loved their comfy bedroom and the excellent choice of DVDs for family evenings in. In addition the location opposite Brockhole, the Lake District Visitor Centre was perfect for our children's age group. There is so much to do in the area-lovely walking, National Trust properties and boat trips on the lake to name a few. The owners of the cottage provided excellent recommendations on activities, walks and restaurants in the area which for our first visit to the area was really valuable. We will definitely be back and would highly recommend the cottage to anyone looking for a 'home away from home' accommodation in the Lake District.
