We hope you get a chance to stay with this wonderful couple in their B&B. This B&B and Ambleside is a great starting point for hiking/biking tours, village trips, golf, or just to enjoy the surroundings. The Lake District even looks nice when it's raining! The village offers all you wish to enjoy your stay. Their are plenty of outdoor shops should you have forgotten something or looking for a good offer. The area is also very friendly to dog owners and they too are welcome in the pub or restaurant. The people of Ambleside are very friendly and cooperative finding a solution for your issue. We have tried several pubs and restaurants and they all offer good vallue for money.

Room Tip: Any room in this B&B is good, the beds are very comfortable and will assure you a good night'...

Ambleside is the centre of many attractions in the Lake District. Our private off road parking for each of our guests and the easy walk to the village make Red Bank ventral for the village.

My wife and I stayed for three nights. We wanted to be based in Ambleside. This was our first trip to The Lake District. Red Bank were perfect for us. Well placed. Good parking. Easy to find. Our room was excellent with a large firm bed. Just what we wanted. Breakfast was filling. Our hosts were welcoming and informative. Would have no hesitation in recommending this guest house.

Our rooms tend to be large with some other B & Bs. With our fresh local produce for breakfast and the breakfast cooked to order all our guests are remark on the freshness of the breakfast.
Hope to see you again.

My husband and myself stayed at Red Bank for a long weekend. We have been to the Ambleside many times but this was our first stay at Red Bank, and we were certainly not disappointed. The house was immaculate, with great attention to detail. The rooms were excellent with extremely comfortable beds and a beautiful ensuite. The breakfast was first class. The overall location of Red Bank is great and the fact that there is room to park your car is always an added bonus in Ambleside. We would certainly have no hesitation in booking Red Bank for any future visits to Ambleside.

My husband and I and two Australian friends stayed for two nights at Red Bank in early June. Our intention was to show our friends a snapshot of the beauty of the Lake District, and Red Bank did not disappoint in adding to the enjoyment of the trip. Our rooms were well equipped and very comfortable, with several personal touches that are not found everywhere. Our breakfast choices were plentiful and the cooked breakfast was expertly cooked by Val, and not a trace of grease. I must admit we also took advantage of the sherry which was left for guests to enjoy before heading out for our evening meal ! All in all a very enjoyable stay. Steph and Jeff Worrall.

We arrived in May for two days and stayed for four days it was so delightful. The accommodation was extremely comfortable and the room was magnificent. Plenty of space to sort our luggage and a comfortable, private bathroom which isn't always the case in B&Bs. It is now a month since we left Ambleside and we are still talking about the quality of the breakfasts and the friendly and helpful advice from George and Val. It felt like we were visiting close friends. George and Val provided great advice for walks in the area and places to see and dine, as well as how to get around. We have kept they address in our diary when we return again from Australia. I see that I have given 5 stars for each category. It is true.

Room Tip: We stayed in two different rooms because we extended our stay without warning. Both rooms (1 and 3...

Warm welcome by the owners and always a help during the stay, excellent breakfast and cosy and very clean rooms. Quiet, but only a few minutes from the center of Ambleside. All rooms are well decorated, there is a non-smokimg policy and you can park your car on the premise, what else do you need? We definitely will com back!

Red Bank is a truly excellent bed and breakfast, lovely place to stay. Val and George are very good hosts, they made our stay very happy and comfortable. We were in room no. 1, which had a massive king size bed which was very comfortable. The room was very quiet and overlooked the back garden. Breakfasts were delicious and lovely presented, plenty of choice of cereals and fresh fruit. Red bank is situated very close to the centre of Ambleside where there are many good places to eat. We look forward to staying there again and hopefully get the good weather again.

Room Tip: Room no. 1 was spacious, quiet and had a huge bed.
