We stayed for 3 nights while visiting the Lake District and South Lakeland village was very easy to find, conveniently located just off the M6. The lodge was very comfortable and cosy and had a nice verandah outside which would be lovely in Summer. Bedding was provided but you need to bring towels.
The only downside was actually finding the lodge inside the site. The owner sent us information including the name of the plot to tell reception but unfortunately I didn't print this off. When we got to the site I was unable to bring up the info on my iPhone as had no signal so went to reception but there was no one there. We asked the bar staff where Brook Edge lodge was and they said there was no lodge of this name and that it must be at Pine Village down the road. We tried to use the bar wifi but this didn't work! So we set off to Pine Village where the receptionist went out of her way to help us but said the lodge definitely wasn't theirs and after googling Trip Advisor etc, confirmed it was at South Lakeland Village. So back we went and decided to walk around the site. Eventually a lovely couple who saw us looking lost as it was getting darker recognised the name and drove us to the lodge then drove us round to our car so we could follow them back. So 2 hours after arriving we finally collected the key. Without them, we might still be looking! I did try ringing the owner but got no answer. So, my advice is to make sure you have a printed copy of the owner's instructions, don't rely on the resort staff being able to help. I can't fault the lodge though. It's very close to the M6 so the traffic noise might be a problem for some but it's not loud and didn't bother us.
We had a fab time in this lodge! Quiet, cosy, clean, tidy...just perfect! The owner made adding an extra night easy, all instructions clear. See you again soon!
