“Fantastic location”
Reviewed June 30, 2015 for a stay in June 2015

House is comfortable and located well for so many activities. Great view, it's true that Morceambe Bay never looks the same twice

“Great weekend had by all”

A large group of all ages (6months -70) had a fantastic weekend away at Bay View. Saying that our group would have a great time anywhere.
Other reviewers have stated the property is a bit tired and I would agree in places. The upstairs bedrooms were much better than the downstairs in my opion. The jacuzzi bath in the conservatory didn't work and the shower on the same part of the house was also not working.
I had asked the owner if champagne flutes were at the property to which he confirmed there were. On checking there was only one. We luckily rectified this by asking a later guest to bring some along. This seems a petty thing to write about but as I'd asked,it did peeve me slightly.
The kids all had a whale of a time exploring and up in the games room.
The beds were comfortable and the property was relativly clean (although the main living room smelled musty).
On the whole I would recommend this property as long as you're not expecting all mod cons. It's comfortable and excellent for those with children as you don't have to constantly follow them round picking up after them or worrying if they might break something.
My main gripe is that I am still waiting a week for my security deposit to be refunded. I emailed the manager straight away but it seems the owners are on a extended holiday and are maybe enjoying a few cocktails with my hard earned cash? (Jokes) Please return it so I can perhaps look at re-booking for next year!

“Excellent size and layout to hold 20 friends for fun week away”

We all loved it! The house is like a fun maze, with rooms all over the place. The teens played hide and seek for a whole day, in the house and into the garden, a great hit! Excellent use of space, with smaller rooms to sit and read or do jigsaws or just chat quietly. The games room was a huge hit with the teens and adults alike! The beds were very comfy and extra bedding could be found in the airing cupboard, when we realised we forgot our extra pillows etc. The house is warm and comfy. You are not getting the plushness of the Hilton, but then you are not paying Hilton prices. It was very clean, tidy, cosy and serviceable, the kitchen has plenty of pots, pans and utensils. Walks are on your door step, which we enjoyed and the scenery was beautiful. The stars on a clear night were breathtaking, we all popped out and star gazed in wonder. Tim the manager was on hand quickly when we broke the toilet, ( sorry Tim), but he was lovely about it. We have been doing group holidays for years and this house was the most fun, clean and comfy. Big happy thumbs up.

“Great Family Weekend”
Reviewed December 19, 2014 for a stay in November 2014

We stayed at Bay View at the end of November 2014 for a pre Christmas 'Turkey & Tinsel' family get together (18 adults and 5 children) The location of this property is fantastic with sunsets over Morecambe Bay to die for. There was plenty of space for us all and the facilities at the property were more than adequate. Tim the manager was very helpful and obliging and we all felt the property represented excellent value for money. As a great venue for such a family gathering this property is bad to beat - so much so that we are already planning our return visit next year.

“Stunning Views”

This is a lovely homely rental, felt at home rather than a hotel. Great rooms for all ages, great selection of books dotted around the house and the layout was great for hide and seek! Lovely grounds with amazing views across the bay. The pool table hosted a competition and good idea to have another fridge in there. Kitchen adequately stocked with equipment and crockery and 2 dishwashers was most helpful.

“Great, fun, and quirky house with lots of room and character”

Lovely house, very quirky with corridors and doorways to the different bedrooms, took us a while to find bedroom number 11! It does need some TLC, there's a few frayed edges, but it gives the place lots of character and homeyness. Owners are very kind and accommodating. Views are great and we had a lovely walk on the Saturday. Some rooms can be rather noisy when it rains at night, ones with skylights, and the master suit could do with more blinds. But overall a fab weekend break for my 21 strong extended family!

“Stunning location in a real home, for all ages, with breathe taking views, at every turn, from inside and outside.”

The house breathed an air of being someone's home rather than just a neat let which lent itself to the Silver Wedding Anniversary plans I'd arranged. I and my husband were able to re-take our wedding vows on the lawn beside the house overlooking the glorious views of the bay bathed in Autumnal sunshine. Our 32 guests were enraptured by both house and especially the grounds, which to young children, and adults alike, were like something from a C S Lewis 'Narnia' book.
The teenagers enjoyed the jacuzzis as much as I and my girlfriends when I had the 'Hen Night' which I couldn't have when we first married. Meanwhile the guys took my husband out for the 'Stag Night' he'd failed to have. As the local pubs are both walking distance no fear of drink driving but torches are a must to get down the drive if it isn't a clear night's sky.
Two lounging areas and two large TVs meant different ages could watch different films at the same time plus whoever decided to pre-record some films was a genius. Our group watched 'Brave' and even the grown men shed a tear or two in between the laughter!!!
Leighton Hall for a Silver 'Tuncheon' {not 'brunch' or lunch but afternoon cream tea at lunch time!!!} was fabulous after we took our wedding vows and if open is worth a visit.
Some past guests have moaned about the pond and things that haven't worked but this is a home and not a hotel plus having things fixed between lets is not easy; skilled workmen being fewer hence the wait can be longer. Both the jacuzzis and all the showers were in full working order when we left. When we arrived, though we failed to mention it, the fridge was 'singing' to us; well it sounded as if 'she' was playing a harp! She was in desperate need of being defrosted and restarted but was quite usable; I quite enjoyed 'her' harmonious noise when we first arrived as it gave the place a magical air. We all hope she's survived and not been replaced as she performed well.
The correspodence with both father, and later the son, was always extremely courteous and helpful.
Helpful hint would be one more large saucepan with lid and a few more mugs; even melamine mugs which are more hardy. I always travel with my own when self-catering hence it didn't matter too much to our group that there were only 17 average sized mugs to use.
Overall BRILLIANT and hope one day to return.
Thank you Jules for letting me rent and use your lovely home as a holiday destination for me and mine.
