“Yet another great stay at the IBIS Hull”
Reviewed January 19, 2014

Couldn't agree more with Toon86 as we stayed there at the same time and on the same trip.
Considering it was such a short time after the tidal surge, the hotel staff must have worked all hours to get it ready.
Once again we were met on the bus by Collette and Keely who handed the room cards out so we were able to go straight to our room with our luggage.
The tables were set for our 3 course evening meal, and complimentary wine (red and white) plus lager which was replenished until 9pm as and when required.
Collette, Keeley and Chad made up the A team and provided a first class service throughout and were a credit to any hotel group.
The hotel itself is ideally placed for all shopping centres with the nearest being Princes Quay.

Room good Bed good Staff lovely Breakfast BAD. No friuit juice in the machine No fruit juice in the cooler No fresh fruit only tinned. No milk coming from the coffee machine. Bacon rock hard and swimming in grease. Lovely receptionist fixed coffee machine but we had finished, (stayed for a cappachino because she had made the effort), Breakdown in supply chain needs sorting but overall ok for the money..

After a great stay at the IBIS Hull last year we decided that we would go back again this year and stayed on Saturday 14th Dec 2013. They always say "...never go back....." however on this occasion it didn't apply at all!
Again there were over 40 of us on our annual Christmas Shopping trip organised by our sports and social club. We traveled by coach and arrived directly outside the IBIS at Hull. Once again Colette and another young lady (sorry I cannot remember your name!) boarded the coach with our room keys. That saved us lining up to check-in and meant we could go straight to our rooms which was fantastic. We also found out that they had been under 4 foot of flood water only a week before which flooded the whole of the ground floor including the restaurant and kitchens. Everything had to be replaced before they could operate them again. All downstairs bedrooms were closed as they were drying them out. The Staff had put in a massive effort in order to be ready for our Christmas Party and seeing what they had been up against we were amazed that they had managed it.
Like last year we went down at 7pm to a set 3 course Christmas dinner which was included in the price we paid. Again we got complimentary wine (red and white), beer, lager and water on the tables. This was renewed where necessary for two hours until 9pm.
Once again the staff were amazing I would like to especially mention Colette, the other young girl and the maintenance guy. What a team. They were always there to help and offer more drinks if required. They were responsible for making it a fantastic Christmas Party that everyone enjoyed tremendously.
After a good night's sleep we appeared at breakfast about 10.30am the next morning. It was a buffet breakfast and there was a good selection of cereals, fruit, hot items (bacon, sausage, hash browns, mushrooms, etc.). Also tea, coffee and fruit juice. The food was good and replenished regularly.
The hotel is brilliant placed for Hull City centre where there is plenty of things to do and loads of shopping.
We will definitely be back. It's the staff that make this hotel. If I was in the hotel trade I would be poaching Colette and her staff!

Stayed here with my partner in July as we went to watch the Boxing at Craven Park, this was cheap & cheerful, the rooms are very budget but at least they are clean. Bathroom has a decent shower. TV in room. The bar is reasonably priced and sells food 24/7. There is no parking at the hotel so the closest car park is at the shopping centre 5 minute walk down the road, not ideal if you have bags to carry. There is not much to do in Hull at all, but the Deep aquarium is close by to the hotel.

I have stayed at the Hull Ibis on a number of occasions. For the price it is excellent value. Staff are always helpful, and it is clean and modern. Good location for all activities in Hull, and helpful to have discounted rates in the nearby car park.

Room Tip: If you want to be somewhere particularly quiet ask for a room that does not overlook the main road.
