“very good food for the price - obviously caters for families”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 7, 2014

We visited for the first time recently, looking for somewhere unfussy but with a reasonable choice, particularly for vegetarians. Unfortunately it was dark when we visited: I imagine the views could be good, as it is right next to the River Humber. Our waitress was friendly and helpful, and the food arrived pretty quickly. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality; I had a delicious steak which I ordered medium-rare and was actually cooked medium-rare too! The veggies had vegetable burritos which were also apparently good. I followed the steak with a raspberry crumble with custard - the texture of the crumble was a bit soggy (I guess it had been cooked in a microwave) but the flavour was very good. We would definitely eat here again. The menu has lots of offers that reduce the price (e.g. buy any two £7.99 meals for £5 each kind of thing). I thought overall it was cheap for the quality. But it always depends who's cooking when you go....

“Didn't even eat as was so cold”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 2, 2014 via mobile

I do come regularly and normally never have a problem. A week ago they had a problem with their heating and had put extra heaters out which was brilliant as didn't have to wear my coat but yesterday the heating was obviously not working. We sat down saw everyone else in coats and decided to leave another two tables left with us as it was clearly too cold. I hate to give this a had review as never had a problem but I can't sit and eat with my coat on.

“Slow Service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 27, 2014

The pub is short on staff, the duty manager was run off her feet to keep the lunch time trade serviced , The lunch meal deal was cheap but sparse compared with other establishments
half an hour wait for our desert is not on !!
The pub was clean in a good spot overlooking the Humber but is urgent need of more staff !!

“Good food for the price ”

My mum frequents this pub 2-3 times a week and when we visited she took us. We were a party of 6. Food took quite a bit to arrive however when it did I was pleasantly surprised. My partner had the 12oz Gammon which he said was beautiful. I had the Mexican burger which lovely. The chips which weren't very nice. Should have listened to mum as she recommended to change the chips for herby potatoes. (Everyone else did and they looked lovely).

Would go again.

We ordered 2 starters which was the garlic mushrooms which was quite nice, then we had gammon, chips, peas and egg, the chips were cold, the peas was hard and the gammon very fatty, whilst we was sat there the waitress came across and asked for our cutlery pot she said she needed it ??? Also no table check to see if we was ok
