Review of Ranooch - CLOSED

Ranooch
Price range: $5 - $18
Description: Situated on Beverly Road in Hull, Ranooch is an exquisite restaurant offering an outstanding and delightful menu of fresh Lebanese cuisine. Designed with a touch of Middle Eastern feel to it, this place possesses a warm, cozy and welcoming character. The restaurant has a heavenly selection of various types of dishes such as mixed mezze platter starters, charcoal grilled main courses and delicious ...sandwiches. It offers delivery, take away and collection services, as well as bookings for group meetings and all occasion gatherings. And if that is not enough, Ranooch has a shisha terrace available, where after your meals, you can indulge in a traditional hubbly-bubbly with aged fruit flavoured tobacco.

“Tasty food, questionable service.”
Reviewed September 4, 2011

We have visited this restaurant on two occasions recently. It is close to the town centre and there is on road parking nearby. Basic, comfortable decor and average cleanliness. The restaurant provides sit down meals and also a takeaway service. The menu has a selection of meze starters which are tasty and good value, various kebabs, and sandwiches. Soft drinks can be purchased or able to take ones own alcohol.
Regarding service, on both occasions it has been somewhat lacking, with incorrect dishes being brought, having to wait a long time despite being the only customers in there, and problems with the bill. However, we enjoyed our visits so may give it another try.

“Gave us both a laugh :)”
Reviewed July 10, 2011

I like trying new places and had driven past Ranooch a few times when I've been in Hull. I called to ask if I needed to book a table for Friday night. The girl who answered the phone had no idea, which wasn't a good start. When we did turn up we were left waiting several minutes before anyone came out to greet us. We were seated but the tables are too close together, no wiggle room if someone is sitting behind you. The waiter was very pleasant. You have a choice of kebabs, or.... well kebabs...... which is fine if you like kebabs (which I do). We also ordered a couple of starters and one was burnt, shame. The kebab meat was really over cooked and far too salty, we were still chewing the next day :) OH - they don't serve alcohol either! You can bring your own but not much use when you weren't told in advance.

Having said that, it was cheap and I may go back 1. for a giggle and 2. at the end of a night out rather than the start when your taste buds are still fully functional.

Amazing food, great Middle Eastern Atmosphere. If you fancy the very tasty Lebanese dishes and want to feel you are sitting in Rawcheh Beirut, you can never miss eating at Ranooch. One of a kind in Yorkshire. Very Highly Recommended. Enjoy! :)
