I always visit this gallery whenever I am in Hull. The current exhibition has loads of art on display from talented local artists, and is recommended.
The gallery is right in the centre of Hull, next to Princes Quay, and it's free.
They have a very nice cafe too.
Check it out.

Although not quite as large inside as it might appear from the Neoclassical entrance, this is an excellent gallery with some very fine paintings on show.

Displays are neatly arranged chronologically and geographically and the visitor moves effortlessly from Baroque and Dutch paintings of the 17th and 18th Centuries to more modern works of local significance with no sense of jarring and with no lessening in quality, variety and interest.

Nicely for an art gallery, there is also a good level of interpretation for each work, providing interesting insights and talking points beyond the normal 'title, artist, medium' labels seen in many art galleries.

The Leonardo exhibition is a little gem - and the cafe is always worth a visit. It's good to see a gallery so well used.

Nice sized gallery, enough to see to make the visit worthwhile without being overwhelming.

Da Vinci exhibition was brilliant, I shall keep my eyes open for future events.

Cafe is busy over the lunch period, nice coffee and baguette at a fair price.

Leonardo, Hockney Warhol; what will be the next coup in Hull. The Feren's Art Gallery is leading the way so after the Museum Quarter, including Wilberforce House, and the unique Deep with its stunning views over the Humber, you can see the best of the World in Feren's. No entry fee, loads of other fascinating galleries and a charming restaurant. A secret tip that can't stay a secret much longer.
