Went for lunch on a Saturday. It's a lovely looking place, very old (800 years old) and a real village pub feel.
However, I can't help feeling very disappointed by the experience. The menu is interesting and varied. Although it says children are welcome, it's not geared to children at all.
The duck ordered was in a sauce so sweet and sugary that it completely overpowered the flavour of the meat. Although it was a plum sauce, which is expected to be sweet, this was too much. It was a very small portion for £17.
The steak was good, although the accompanying frozen chips were not good at all. Some chunky, hand cut chips would have been great.
Desserts were very disappointing.
The service is very slow and the food is horrendously expensive for the portion sizes.
Could have been excellent. But won't be going back and can't recommend
