If I hadn't heard about Kai's Kitchen on Twitter, I probably wouldn't have given it a go. The previous reviewer describes the location perfectly - it's somewhere you've probably walked past hundreds of times without noticing!
Still, it's all about the food. I've only had the Pad Thai so far, but that was simply outstanding. Well presented, incredible fresh tastes - loved every bit of it. As good as you'd find in Thailand.
There's loads of dishes to choose from, so I'll certainly be back for more.

Fantastic! Simply the best Thai food I have had in Tunbridge Wells and I have lived in the area for over 20 years. This place serves proper, authentic Thai food of the sort Thai’s make for themselves in Thailand – not the typical slightly Westernised tourist food. From the outside you would not know this café housed a Thai restaurant – it is opposite Tunbridge Wells train station, next to the corner entrance of Hoopers department store and has no name on the outside other than that of the sandwich bar which used to be here “Continental Flavour” on the maroon awning and “Take Away Coffee Available” on the window (incidentally, their coffee is very good). Inside, beyond the coffee machine, it has about a dozen tables in a simple but pleasant green-coloured setting where the Thai staff serve freshly cooked and superbly authentic Thai food (along with a selection of normal European dishes). My wife and I had some of the best Som Tam (papaya salad) and Larp Gai (spicy chicken salad) which I have had in the UK, along with traditional sticky rice – all genuinely like you get them in Bangkok. The Pad Thai (Thai rice noodles) are also excellent. Apparently this place was opened about 4 months ago (I wish someone had told me); it does not have an alcohol licence and does not yet serve food in the evenings. The staff told me they plan to do evening meals soon and I certainly look forward to it. Good value, excellent food, thoroughly recommended!

Love the coffee here! It's just as good as you get in Italy and Corsica... And that's saying something. The food is fairly standard fare i.e. baked jacket potatoes with various toppings, freshly made sandwiches (with a good selection of fillings), breakfasts (with a minimal veggie option, could be better) and a fairly good selection of cakes. But for me the croissants and pain au chocolat with my coffee are the highlights as they are all as fresh as fresh can be... Not to mention the fruit smoothies are a real quencher on a hot day! As for the price, it's damn reasonable, bearing in mind the quality... Don't forget, they serve Torelli coffee here (the best coffee in town)! Friendly and helpful staff too.

Visited this cheerful cafe during the week . Coffee was excellent and we enjoyed a tasty light lunch that was reasonably priced.
Would certainly go again when next in Tunbridge Wells.

Had lunchtime snack with 3 friends. Tasty food with good coffee. Very busy but service was good' as always.. We prefer it to the 'chain' coffee shops.
