Went to pulpito with my wife on Saturday night. Decided to order a mixture of different tapas and wasn't disappointed. We tried the Manchester cheese with membrillo, the lentils with chorizo, the prawn pil pil, the croquetas and the pulpo a la gallega (octopus). All washed down with a bottle of lovely dry Spanish red wine ( about £18 per bottle). All of it was delicious with a special mention going to the pulpo a la gallega. Anyone who's eaten octopus knows it can easily be cooked very badly, but this was spot on. The chef and owner even came out of the kitchen and gave me some tips on how to cook it!
We also had deserts and coffee plus one beer each and the bill came to £84 including service. Not cheap but definitely good value. Was surprised to see that it wasn't full in the restaurant so hopefully the good word of mouth will bring in more punters. We need more good value high quality restaurants in tunbridge wells like pulpito.
