Thats not very often you say that in Tunbridge wells. Warm cosy, a nice welcome and fresh food. Salads look like they have just been prepared and everything was hot ! Orange Juice, two teas, a coffee, three selection salad, sausage role and a breakfast bagel (yes what a combination) £21…all very nice you couldn't fault it!..Most important thing, good value for money!

The second time we have been there in a couple of weeks. The first time just the same, welcoming and good food and a pleasant atmosphere!…chocolate milkshakes are very tasty.

Simply the Best ~ If you have not been in Basil yet and you are reading this review then close your laptop, shut down your Ap, and GO NOW. Enjoy. The food is amazing, as fresh as fresh can be, salads to die for and make you feel good, quiches that say 'Eat me' when you go to choose which one you want to have, thus making it hard not to say 'a piece of every one please'
Coffee is superb, not bitter but smooth and says 'take your time on me' Cake? oh the cake... bees knees. The basis of Basil is Good Food, Excellent Staff who are kind, courteous and down to earth. Prices - great, good value for gorgeous food.
I love Basil, you will too when you go and you will!

Fantastic home cooked food. The salads were original and absolutely delicious - quinoa, lentils, chickpeas etc - all clearly freshly made and wonderfully healthy. As are the quiches which are delicious. If you have a sweet tooth you are also well catered for, the cakes and slices are outstanding. Make sure you're hungry when you arrive hungry as the portions are generous.

Best place in tunbridge wells for amazingly fresh and inventive salads , great choice for vegetarians . I had a feta and butternut / spinach Filo pie , delicious with salads , then a lovely piece of blackberry Victoria sandwich staff helpful and friendly .

Very good overall. Nice coffee. Picked rare beef sandwich. Lovely bread and homemade mayo. Sadly beef was not rare and was not overly generous in portion.
Partner had lonely quiche.
I had wonderful strawberry gateaux.
Generally one of the best places for a light lunch in TW
