My very elderly mother took us here for a special Sunday lunch. The service was indescribably bad, there was allegedly no disabled access for my mother (although we later found out that there was) and although the food was very good, we couldn't even get a bill at the end because the printer had broken down!

Been here a few times and had some friends do an overnight stay.

We mainly eat and sit in the Bar area. On a number of accassions we've been hustled away by the manageress (which changes frequently) to make space for bigger parties. Trying to get another round of drinks requires a foghorn to attract attention. Food is of good quality and it is pretty busy. Nice boutique feel but it's let down badly by service staff and afvouratism of large parties. We stopped going there lately as we just got fed up waiting to be served all the time.
Our friends who stayed said the room and decor was lovely but the shower wasn't powerful enough to actually enjoy the lovely large shower they had in the room so a bit of a let down.

This was a disappointment. Not knowing what to expect, the pink neon upon arrival took me aback as did the Hen Night party in one section. I may have misunderstood the nature of the place but ultimately this didn't seem to fit in with the food experience that was offered - in fact, the sense that no one had thought about what the overall experience should be was strong.

The biggest weakness that this place currently has though is the service. It took an age for the first drink to arrive. Whilst we were waiting, we were asked on more than one occasion if we wanted to order, which seems odd when one is waiting for a pre-meal cocktail. We were also asked by more than one person and the lack of communication between staff, or perhaps the lack of a clear system of working the restaurant, became tedious as the evening wore on. It was also a shame that such attention to requesting our order was not matched by attention to replacing empty bottles.

To be fair to the chef, there were highlights with the food. The mackerel pate starter was good and there was plenty of taste in the chicken and leek pie main. This could have lifted the experience but they let themselves down, and severely so, with the salad that accompanied the starter. The dressing was so salty that the roof of one's mouth was itching for some time after. It's fair to say also that the portions were on the small side, particularly for the sea bass main, which raises the value for money question.

This isn't a restaurant I will be returning to unless I hear that the management has got to grips with the things that are important to a dining experience.

Decided on a last minute booking for lunch, and thoroughly pleased we did. Admittely we had a midday booking and arrived to an empty restaurant but food was great (nice prawn cocktail, prawn tempura was good, steak and kidney pudding was very nice, lamb was great, kids sausage and chips also nice) Only had a childs ice cream for desert and no wine to drink but overall was good food, good value (kids were £5 I believe) and overall will go back. Only negative I can give is that white tables and chairs not quite my personal bag, but otherwise worth a visit and child friendly too (7 and 4). Also being a local there is (in my opinion) a lack of good/decent eateries at the Pantiles end of town so very pleased we have found somewhere with good food, nice service and good value!
