We went here during a shopping trip in town and went here based on the high ranking in Tripadvisor for a Saturday lunchtime.
We entered and although there was a table downstairs, we were offered a table upstairs, we were slightly surprised by the upstairs as it was a bit more of a lounge with sofas rather than the cafe downstairs but looking at the website it appears it can be used for small functions, events etc. e.g. We noticed some lampshades that seemed out of place, only finding out when inspecting them at the other end of the room that they were for sale.
I ordered a chicken salad and a chai and my partner ordered a mocha and ploughman's. I liked my salad but my partner was not overwhelmed with the ploughman's. She wasn't convinced that the bread was the right bread and for a place that celebrates using local produce, the pickle could have been local but appeared to be regular Branston.
The service was good, the place was clean and it was a good cafe in a quiet part of town.
Overall, it was good, but we have been to better (and worse) cafe's in town, probably have to go back and try the cake.
