Great position in town but a word of warning before you rush to take a table outside like in the pictures on this site. The restaurant is on a 45 degree hill (or so it feels and so one person is sitting leaning forward all the time in case they overbalance and tip back down the hill.
Frendly staff greeted us at the door and took us upstairs (even though there seemed to be several empty tables downstairs. We met our waitress soon after who did not seem as talkative as the door greeter but was efficient. We had a reasonable meal and all seemed satisfied when we left.
Toilets in this restaurant are all upstairs which may be a thing to consider. We were upstairs so had a bit of traffic too and from the toilets and I even helped one old lady who was struggling up the stairs. to get to them.
We had announced when booking that it was my sons birthday and even the door greeter mentioned it but there were no extras offered by way of candle or even mention throughout the meal which may be a plus point for some people but somewhat disappointed us. A small acknowledgement to make a boys day would not have gone a miss.
We are quite spolied for choice in Tunbridge Wells for average good places just to have a meal out of an evening and nothing which occured on our visit was bad it just did nothing to really entice us to come back which in this economy is surely something they should be doing.
