We had visited here before but only had coffees, not food. The location, at the end of the harbour arm, is just beautiful. The outside terrace is great for hot summer heatwaves having both harbour views and views out to sea. The outside tables are tired and the torn and spikey sun umbrellas a safety hazard, but I think there is refurbishing on the cards.
We ordered paella each which was being freshly cooked and we were told it would be 15 minutes which was fine by us. There were not many customers (Friday lunchtime) and the service was friendly and attentive. The real disappointment was the food - not much of it, no niceties (such as bread rolls or garnishes), served on cold plates and certainly not worth the £15 each that we paid. Such a shame as we were full of hope that this would be a good venue for an upcoming family treat.

Very disappointed as the location has amazing views of the harbor but the food was a let down. I ordered the mussels to start an i must say although they were very big the sauce was one of the worst i have tasted. There was no bread served with them which most restaurants you go to offer and i was not supplied with a bowl for the shells or finger bowl. My husband and i both ordered the special which was paella and when it came out it the rather small plate consisted of one overcooked piece of chicken, rice and very small mussels. Again we were not supplied with a plate for the shells and we had to put them on the table.
Th waitress came to the table and asked if everything was ok and my husband said not really as we had no prawns ,chorizo or squid in our paella and the portion was very small. The waitress after speaking to the chef advised us the it was the chefs interpretation of the dish, when i asked her the price of the dish as it was not on the board i was advised it was £15 and i confirmed the dish was not worth this amount. On the second trip to the kitchen the waitress came back and asked if we wanted something else or the price of our mains would be taken off of the bill. The waitress also advised us that we had the last of the paella so that maybe why ours was not up to standard. Unsure why the chef or manager was not able to come and see us, and feel that his comment on the website that Rick Stein is his inspiration having eaten at Rick Steins i think maybe he should try eating there.

We arrived on a Saturday night having pre booked the table for 8pm. We arrived and was shown to our table where we were then sat for around 20 minutes before being offered a drink. Our order was taken and the 2 men in our party ordered muscles for starter but there was no bread on the side, we asked for some bread and then later discovered this was an additional charge.
Our mains came out and our drinks were getting low, the bottle of wine had been finished but no one came over to check on us. After finishing our main course we were asked if we'd like dessert, we said yes and ordered more drinks, these again took a while to come out along with the dessert menu! After another 20 minutes someone finally came to take our dessert order. We were now nearing nearly 10.20, bear in mind we arrived at 8!
The food was very nice however the speed of service and the lack of attentiveness to the party has put us off ever going again, they are missing a trick especially with drinks orders, they could easily have taken more money from our party. The staff were polite enough and quite friendly just not really on the ball.
I do like the fact however that all the food is locally sourced and the views from where we sat were amazing.

Our family party of all ages from 3 to 70 was a great success thanks to the relaxed, informal dining in this unbeatable location. Staff were so friendly and amenable and the food was absolutely brilliant. Much fresh fish and seafood was consumed with relish. A fantastic pianist played for most of the time accompanied by his beautiful guide dog.
Brilliant venue for families and dogs welcome too.
Cant praise the ambiance too highly.

I don't usually write much on platforms like this, yet I feel I have to congratulate the owners on the wonderful job they are doing. Finally this place has found a new and excellent use, I wish it had been there for years... Such beautiful 360 degree panoramas, such lovely owners and staff, such fabulous cuisine. And the best thing: You can come here for a simple cafe latte or capuccino in the morning, have some tasty bits for lunch or enjoy beautiful dinners in the evening. Definitely the new place to be in Ramsgate. Thank you very much for our excellent dinners last Thursday night. I promise we'll be back soon!
