This is such a nice place with an abundance of expensive yachts and cafe culture all around it. You can pay for a half day sailing lesson at Heron Sailing, or take a boat trip to see the seals or for £3 a trip around the harbour - to be honest I wouldn't pay for that, you can walk it just as easily and see far more detail.

There are also several eateries and antique/curiosity shops around the edge, in the little arches under the road.

Ramsgate USED to be a bustling, interesting, lively place. We found it half-deserted, with very little parking available on the front (as usual), the museum not opening until 10.30am, the beautiful old Victoria Pavilion shuttered and closed, and hoardings up blocking off what should have been acres of amusement/parking/facilities, with a beautiful sandy beach in front. We didn't linger long. That pavilion should be open and full of little shops, a cafe, seating and so on - there should be a large multi-storey car park instead of those ugly hoardings - but without those things, the place has very little to attract non-yachtie visitors. Such a shame.

We were in the area and decided to spend some time exploring the harbour and surrounds - what a delightful place.
The adjoining town centre is in dire need of some TLC but the harbour area is lovely. We sat and watched life pass by for an hour, there seemed to be something constantly on the move in the harbour and the surrounding pubs cafes and ice cream outlets are ideally placed.
Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

What a beautiful harbour....especially with the sun rays lots of places to drink and nice resturants. We had chips from a chip shop on the corner of queens road. There's a market on queen road also. Then visited a quaint pub on the hill for a drink very friendly staff and people

We keep a boat in the marina here and we love walking round the marina and chilling out in the various bars and restaurants.

There is a museum, a boat you can explore, an outer harbour wall that is a nice walk and beaches either side.
