This was our second weekend stay in Ramsgate, booked because the first time we stayed, we ate at CCCP and couldn't wait to go back.
I don't know anything about East European food, so I can't comment on authenticity, but I can say that the menu has a wide selection and that everything we have eaten there has been exceptional.
On this occasion, we had smoked sausage soup & beet root soup, wild boar fillets and meat dumplings in mushroom sauce and honey & another cake I can't remember the name of, but it was like custard slice in cake form.
On our previous visit, we'd had dumplings and the portion was so massive, it was bordering on ridiculous, so we were slightly disappointed to find the 'large' portion is now barely a meal on its own, but we shared that and the wild boar (which was a large portion) between us and it was just right. The dumplings were only £4 though, so a 'starter' portion is about right.
It was all completely delicious and the staff very friendly and attentive.
The beer and pina colada cocktail were great too.
The entire meal, including drinks, came to £40, so was excellent value too.
We'll definitely be back and would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for something a bit different.
