Had 3 course meal here. Food was much better than average and portions to suit. Was a little pricey for me but don't mind if the quality is there. Will return again.

Visited this restaurant on a Sunday evening with some friends who live locally. Very quiet, only two other tables occupied. The menu is typically Italian of course, but I felt overpriced, considering outside Central London. All the starters at £8. I chose a stuffed portobello mushroom but was given a very small flat head mushroom swimming around in some flavourless soup in an oven dish so impossible to see the mushroom until you started eating. My main was spinach and ricotta type rolls with chilli. I asked for extra chilli based on the starter having had no distinguishable taste. Again, I received two rolls of over cooked alternately rubbery or hard pasta swimming in the same milky looking soup which I imagine passed for the sauce. Utterly tasteless and no sign of extra chilli. The worst Italian meal I have ever eaten.
This restaurant obviously charges a premium because it is built into the cliffs over the marina, but it should not rest on its laurels. There needs to be some serious attention to the use of ingredients, presentation and cooking ability! I would not waste my money, at £125 for four with one bottle of wine, this does not represent good value.

We have been regular visitors to La Magnolia. It was, and is, an outstanding dining experience. The food is great, the staff pleasant and attentive, and the premises spotlessly clean.

However, it used to be a great , and possibly the only, place to have dining out experience at an affordable price. Now however, the restaurant has had a facelift, the food is excellent as before, but they have raised the bar in the cuisine stakes. Yes, it's still excellent food at a fair price, but the cost has nearly doubled and the restaurant has become just another really good restaurant. Regrettably, for us on a tight budget, it has become a "special occasion" restaurant instead of a "treat ourselves to a meal out" restaurant.

Nonetheless, despite the increased cost, the value for money is just the same. It's a shame it no longer offers the experience to those of modest means.

Chose to eat at this restaurant as it was close to our hotel and looked the busiest of a number on the terrace overlooking the harbour. Despite being busy we were able to sit outside and enjoy the view . Service was polite and food arrived quickly . Good choice of dishes and ours was of above average quality . Recommended for couples or the whole family . A carafe of Wine , two starters and two mains was £50

Took my Missis there for her birthday and they looked after is well. Food was really nice but the seafood dish my other half got could have had a bit more seafood about it, but seasoning and flavours were fantastic as was the service.....best restaurant on the parade.
