We came here for our Sunday lunch, having managed to bag the last table in the restaurant upstairs. The two-course lunch is £12.95 and three courses are £15.95. We started with mushrooms in a garlic sauce with melted cheese and bread, and breaded chicken strips. Both were delicious and the portions were good. Our main courses were the roast beef and roast lamb which came served with roast potatoes, new potatoes, Yorkshire pudding and roast butternut squash - the vegetables (baby carrots, sugar snap peas and broccoli) were in a separate serving dish and there was also gravy served separately. The meals were washed down with a pint of Shepherd & Neame's Masterbrew and a glass of the house red - a lovely smooth Syrah. We just about found some room for a dessert and opted for the chocolate mint cake with cream and an iced lemon meringue with cream. These were just as delicious as the starters and main courses. The service was excellent and Tony and Shirley are warm and friendly hosts. We had fantastic views over Pegwell Bay from our table - book early if you can as the tables don't hang around for long. You can also eat downstairs and these tables can be reserved. I can't recommend the food highly enough and we're looking forward to trying their usual menu another time.
