Visited twice both occasions for dinner. The food is above average but no fireworks! For a restaurant in a port I alway felt there should be more fish on the menu, which is basic and unimaginative. The service is mixed with an apologetic Frenchman and a mixture of poorly trained youngsters. Wine pouring and waiting etiquette appalling.
The food is good and there are few restaurants in Ramsgate to offer pleasant surroundings albeit no view.

I would try again as you are not spoilt for choice in this town, hopefully the staff will be better trained!

We recently ate at Age & Sons for the second time and food was really poor. The bread that they served was inedible and when we mentioned it to the waitress it was shrugged off. We had to ask for water twice before it arrived. My wife had the pigeon as a starter one breast was tough and the other under cooked, she then had the rib eye steak which was tough. I asked for a side of crushed potatoes which did not arrive. When we mentioned top the waitress, she seemed disinterested. We wrote to complain and 4 weeks later the have still not responded. It seems that they really do not care about customer service.

Been for dinner twice and both times was very pleasant. The food was very good and presented very well. The puddings were delicious and the complimentary bread was a nice touch.

Over the past few months we've had lunch and dinner 5 or 6 times at Age & Sons. This would be a destination restaurant anywhere in the south-east but in an area of generally mediocre to poor establishments, Age & Sons, is in a league of its own. Reasons for the repeat visits? The locally sourced ingredients and the inventiveness displayed on the menu by chef Toby Leigh and his team and the almost French levels of discrete attentiveness given by the front of house team. This a restaurant to take real pride in.

I have been to Age many times, and every time is an utter treat. From the well priced food & wine to the delightful staff, in particular lovely Ludo on the bar & Faith in the restaurant. The food is always amazing and the ambiance exactly what you'd hope for.
