Our first trip to Hawthorn Farm and it certainly won’t be our last. We have been looking for a local ‘go-to’ site for a while and we have finally found it! The site is very accessible from a main road (essential when towing!), the showers are hot and very clean. Pitches are really big and you have a lot of space and privacy. A beautiful, natural site that has a lot of character and with very friendly staff.

We stayed here overnight. Camper had a flat battery. Staff went to extraordinary limits to help us.
Been a fun experience that could've been very stressful.

Highly recommend this campsite. Lots of clean amenities and grassy areas.

This is a really lovely site, very well laid out with excellent clean, loos, showers, washing up facilities. The staff are friendly and helpful.
Buses run from close to the site to Dover, Deal, Sandwich etc. As do trains.
The downsides are - the train line runs alongside the site, close to many of the pitches, and some of the trains are very, very noisy. They also run all night! We solved this problem by investing in some ear plugs. (We were in a tent but it might be less of an issue in a caravan or motor home.)
The site is, understandably given it's location close to Dover, popular with people catching ferries. However, as a result it is not unusual for people to arrive late at night or leave early in the morning. Some of theses folk are not considerate of other campers and can be rather noisy.
Despite these downsides this is still one of the best sites we have ever stayed on and we may well go back - but ask for a pitch a little further from the tracks. lol

Thank you for our review, the train line does run past one side of the campsite, however, the trains stop running from 11pm and start again after 6am. Some of our visitors do arrive and leave during the night for ferries and in some cases can be a little inconsiderate, to attempt to mitigate this they are often sited away from those enjoying longer stays but at busy times this is not always possible. we hope you will return again soon to our park. Thank you again.

After arriving back from France into Dover we wanted a few extra nights, and to visit a family member before heading home. i rang to see if they had any available pitches and they did, reception was closed butthey gave us all the info we needed to get in and were happy for us to sort out in the morning payment etc , couldn’thave been more helpful!!
The lovely ladies in the restaurant were brilliant and our breakfast & evening meal was excellent!!
The lady on reception was just lovely so friendly and was so lovely to our boys !!! Highly recommend & will definitely be visiting again. For anyone looking for an overnight prior to traveling by ferry from Dover, this is the place to stay!!!!!!!!!!!

Stayed overnight here for an early ferry from Dover ferry port. Difficult to find at first but just follow the signs for camping and you should be OK. No need to check in as you just pitch up on a grass pitch anytime and leave when you want in the morning.
Shower/toilet block is well maintained and clean.
Will stay here again next year without a doubt.
If you want a meal the Brewers Fare is nearby but is busy. We went to the Smugglers Inn at St Margaret's which proved to be better anyway.
