The Castle Guest House was very welcoming, comfortable room and an excellent breakfast. It was an excellent location for visiting Dover Castle - the main purpose of our visit - but also close to the town

First time we have stayed here. Apparently the new owners took over earlier this year. Lovely welcome and very accommodating to our every need. The room was clean, spacious and well appointed - coffee, tea and good quality biscuits!! Everything was clearly explained in the information pack in the room including the WiFi access.
Breakfast was great, full English using local produce and kept us going all day.
Parking was fine, with free overnight parking opposite or a dedicated off-stret area close by.
We will certainly stay again when we are next in Dover.

We stayed for 2 nights in the Castle Guesthouse, one night on the way out to the continent, and one on the way back. We had our 2 year old son and our dog with us and both of them were made very welcome. On the way out we left early in the morning and Sharon was professional enough to charge us less as we didn't have breakfast, something you don't always find in the B&B profession!

The family room we stayed in was lovely, the breakfast on our return journey was delicious and we enjoyed our stay very much! Definitely worth staying before or after a ferry crossing!

I always wanted to visit Dover and see their famous "White Cliffs" and Dover Castle. On my recent visit to the UK to see my son, a soloist with Birmingham Royal Ballet, I booked, blind, a two-day stay through the local travel information site and came directly, via train, from London Gatwick Airport. Castle Hill is an easy 10-15 minute walk from the train station and is only a five minute walk to Dover Castle. I arrived early, but to my surprise, my room was ready. The single room was small but quaint, clean, bathroom small but with a powerful and hot shower, and a perfectly working TV. The full English breakfast was superb and probably was one of the best I've ever had in the UK. Restaurant recommendations from Sharon, the co-owner, were "spot on". Castle Hill is an excellent guest house and a great deal for the money. It's location is perfect for anyone wanted to visit Dover Castle ( a must!!) and is energetic enough to walk to the "White Cliffs" (which I did with great joy!).

This was the second time we stayed (with our dog), the first time being May of this year, and more recently the begining of September. We stayed one night on both occassions because it's right on the doorstep of the ferry port to France when we go on our holidays, and, more importantly, because it's dog friendly. The owners are very friendly and helpful. Can't comment on breakfast as we leave too early for it, but the owner did offer to do us breakfast earlier than usual if we wanted it. The room was a very generous size, comfortable and clean. Wonderful friendly pub around the corner recommended by the owner, that also does good food. Will definately be staying there again.

We stayed there one night recently and were very pleased with the location and accommodations. Dover doesn't have too much to offer after 6pm on a Saturday evening but our host handed us a guide they put together, this helped with picking out a restaurant. The room was generous, we had our 2 dogs with us and were very happy to have the extra space. The large windows going floor to ceiling were great, allowing our dogs to sit and look out without having to climb on anything. The bed was very comfortable after spending a day walking around Canterbury. Breakfast was really good, I am not a fan of the "Full English Breakfast" so having a choice of other things made me very happy.

Room Tip: We stayed in the "Dover" room, facing towards town.

As a family we stayed for a night in Dover at the Castle House. Pleasantly surprised with how nice the room was, and how large. We stayed on the second floor. Breakfast was good and the owners were very friendly and helpful. No hesitation in recommending, and I don't get to say that very often these days.
