“Ideally located for the ferry”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 2, 2013

Booked the hotel so that we could catch the early ferry. Idealy located just minutes from the terminal.

Standard Premier Inn room - although we were surprised to find that there was no air-conditioning in our room - and it was one of the hottest nights of the year. The control panel on the wall stated that it did not cool the room and it seemed to be fixed at 25. There was a fan in the room, which was of use during the night.

Great sea view and the Table Table food was excellent.

We would definately stay again when travelling from Dover.

This is the ideal stop-over, having spent the day visiting dover Castle and departing for France the next morning. The welcome we received was friendly and efficient (Carol, I think) although the queue can build at times (more often than not by people not being bale to follow directions to the right Premier Inn!! The inn is modern and the room spacious and what you would expect. A fan was provided ude to the hot weather. Free car park. Breakfast was cooked to order and tasty - they did seem to have run out of marmalade though (somewhat bizarre!), and breakfast service was a little slow between sitting down and the order being taken. The only real draw back is the noise on the seafront/ car park by people shouting about their late night conquests. I am tempted to suggest asking for a room out back, but that overlooks the main road. In cooler weather the window would be shut so the problem would proably go away. There was a restaurant but we opted for wetherspoons in town , amere 5 minutes away.

We chose this hotel for a pre-cruise stay. We were lucky enough to get a sea-view room which was comfortable and clean. We had dinner in the restaurant which adjoins the hotel, and breakfast in the morning before departure. Breakfast was very busy as there were 2 cruise ships going out that day so we were glad that we had booked when we checked in the night before. Guests who hadn't booked were having to wait quite a long time to get seated.
All in all it was a very pleasant stay with one small exception - when we arrived at around 4pm there was a long queue to check in, so bad that we had to stand outside the main door and then shuffle in. We must have waited about 30 minutes before it was our turn to check in. There seemed to be 2 reasons for this - firstly there was only one receptionist on duty which seems ridiculous when 2 cruises were due to depart the following day. Secondly, the check-in process at Premier Inn is too long - the receptionist has a long list of questions and advice to give each guest, if you want to book dinner or breakfast this has to be booked and paid for on the spot, and of course because of the location many of the guests checking in don't speak fluent English so the whole process takes longer than usual.
This aside, the location is perfect if you are catching a ferry or cruise and we would use the hotel again if we travel from Dover in the future.

Room Tip: Check in early if you want a sea-view room

Wanted a Hotel to allow for a stress free early sailing from Dover and this was perfect. Situated minutes away from the Ferry terminal and with easy and free parking this met all my expectations. A sea view, good sized and comfertable rooms, friendly staff and a restaraunt/pub adjoining the hotel, all boxes where ticked.
The hotel is on the Dover seafront and allows for easy access to the stony beach and the Town centre for those last minute continental essentials.
Assuming I can take advantage of Premier Inn's early booking £39 offers I will definately be staying here again..

Room Tip: Take advantage of Premier Inn's £22 meal offer. We didn't and it cost us twice as much on me...

This hotel followed the same standards as most Premier Inn's I have stayed in; clean and comfortable rooms with good service.

The location is on the sea front right next to the Dover ferry terminal and easy to find, free parking was right outside the hotel. The staff were friendly, the room was clean and comfortable with baby cot set-up and spare nappy bags to hand (nice touch).

The only problem with the room is that we located on the opposite side to the beach next to the main road, normally this would be a problem as the windows have secondary glazing. However, the hotel does not have air conditioning as the night was warm. A fan was provided so provided the window was open and you had no bed clothes then it was bearable.

Please refer to the web site regarding the choice of room - go for the sea view. Due to an early ferry, we did not eat at the hotel.

I can't fault the Premier Inn at all. You get everything you want and it's all for a reasonable price. Some people have commented that it's a noisy hotel if you stay on a roadside room, but we had a sea view room and it was very quiet (except the seagulls).

It's as close to the port as you can get and very handy for the early moring crossings.

The hotel is excellently placed for an overnight stay before an early ferry being only a few hundred meters from the ferry dock. Upon arrival we were greeted by very friendly and welcoming reception staff who were only to to help out wherever they could. This level of good service continued throughout our stay. The rooms were adequate and clean and enabled us all to get a good nights sleep. The view from the front of the hotel is very attractive overlooking the port and docks.

If we had not ventured into the restaurant attached to the hotel for dinner then the overall score for the hotel would be good. However our eating experience was poor. The restaurant was busy but after ordering it took over two hours for us to get our meals. The staff were extremely apologetic and upon asking for a substantial discount it was given without question.

We apprehensively ventured into the restaurant for breakfast the following morning but we needn't have worried. The range of food in the continental buffet was good and the hot breakfast was freshly cooked to order.

We would return to this hotel again if catching an early ferry but would think twice about eating in the restaurant.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front of the hotel have sea view at no extra cost.
