We booked a cruise out of Dover and wanted to arrive one day early. The Norman Guest House fit our plans perfectly. The rooms were comfortable and breakfast was very good. When we arrived, we noted that we would need a taxi to the port the following day and the proprietor very quickly made a reservation for us. This B&B is on a main road and is close to the train station (which was a draw when we booked), but I really didn't notice much noise until around 0630 in the morning.

The owners live in the hotel and are always extremely helpful. We got a very nice and big room with en-suite bathroom for a decent price. The only problem was that it is on the main road and just above a railway, so keep your windows closed at night, if you are unused to noise.

We stayed here for 2 nights and really enjoyed our time there. It was a leisurely stroll to town. The breakfast was excellent and the room and dining room were spotless. The owners were extremely helpful and pleasant - we would certainly stay there again. We had dinner both nights at the Eight Bells Pub located in the centre of town (a 10 minute walk from the B & B)the food there was very good and moderately priced.

Room Tip: We had a room with an ensuite - the ensuite was extra large by British standards. The stairs were a bit tricky as it was on the 3rd floor but the owner stored our big luggage and we just took a small bag up

This guest house, located in the centre of the city (next to the train station) is lovely! We were warmly welcomed, the room we book was ensuite, was clean with all we needed. Being In front of a busy road and the train station it was quiet and warm. The breakfast was really nice! We chose the English breakfast, but also there was other options. If we go there again, definitely we would stay there again!

The host is very friendly and welcoming and the rooms are ok. I wish I knew that the guest house was next to busy road and train. I am a very light sleeper and noise kept waking me up during the night. The bed in our room was very hard so sleep was almost impossible for me. Kids and hubby did not complain though. 5-10 mins walk to find anywhere to have dinner. Cooked breakfast is ok. Kids liked hot chocolate made with milk - unlike the watery stuff they often get served up. Some street parking, however if you ask the host, he will arrange for free off-street parking behind guest house.
