Booked a break that included afternoon tea, evening meal, B and B and a foot passenger crossing to France... Fantastic!

. We arrived a bit early but the room was ready, Lobby is inviting, as is the bar and lounge. Didn't have a seaview as hotel was fully booked the following day. But our room, with its sloping floor was lovely and warm with view towards the castle and over De Bradlei wharf.

Decided to have the afternoon tea as lunch. Very nice. 4 types of sandwiches, 6 small cakes and a warm scone, jam butter and cream, along with a pot of tea. Filled us up til dinner.

The included evening meal was a 3 course menu, and it was delicious. The restaurant room is beautiful and quite grand. There are window tables if you like. The young man on duty was lovely , friendly and cheerful. He made us feel welcome and as if he cared if you were enjoying yourself. The young lady with a smiley face who served us is also a credit to the hotel. These 2 people made our stay memorable because of their friendliness.

After our trip to France ( Port only 10-15mins walk away) we decided to eat in the restaurant again, from the a la carte menu. Same friendly service, and delicious food.

The whole stay is very recommendable. We would definitely stay at this hotel if we were in Dover again. Well Done Best Western....10/10

Room Tip: Ask for a seaview...... they will let you have one if one is free.

We stayed here prior to catching the ferry the next day to France.
The hotel is a great place to stay; in Dover there are many places that are cheaper, and you get what you pay for. This hotel is friendly, clean, great views of the harbour. The real surprise was the excellent quality of the food and service.

Room Tip: Free parking is available at the back of the hotel, but you need a windscreen ticket from the hotel reception

I booked last minute on the day with no problems as it was out of peak season. Lobby is well presented and the staff are very friendly. I stayed for 2 nights in room 312 with a sea view and the room was very clean and modern, the bed was very comfortable like sleeping on a cloud. The bathroom did let it the room down a bit it needs to be updated. Being an old building the floors are on a slope and quite uneven, however I didn't find this to be a huge issue. ( management do have a note in the rooms if you find it a problem they are willing to move you to a different room)
After enjoying the beautiful scenic walk of the cliffs I treated myself to an afternoon tea in the waterfront cafe overlooking the beach, a lovely way to relax after a long walk on a cold windy day. I ordered room service one evening my dinner arrived quickly and was enjoyable. I would certainly stay here again.
