When i first saw the eight bells i thought looks like and old pub. The inside is what id say a traditional feel its lovely.the staff were friendly n helpful my husband couldnt decide on an ale so the young lady let him taste one she thought hed like and she got it spot on.the older lady was making the regulars laughand she always remembers faces which i think is lovely.every time we pop in she makes a fabulous effort with us. the others were running around working hard. It knackered me out seeing them.haha.The food was hot good sizes n value for money.myself n my husband had two meals for £5.99. And i also enjoyed a glass of wine or two. whilst hubby tried his way through the diffrent english ales.all in all we could not have faulted them.plus lastly id like to add.they have recently got a new head manager in landlord.young chap n he has we feel really turned this what was a good pub into an excellent pub.well done young man keep it up.

Food in Eight Bells was delicious. We had Fish and Chips, Cottage Pie, Sausages and Mash and Stuffed Potato. Everything was excellent, stuffed potato was OK. Service was great, nice and friendly staff. Unfortunately, we didn't have much time to relax and enjoy the atmosphere, but we had great overall experience in this restaurant.

We ordered Half roast chicken meal for only 4.85 pound each! This is a pub so be aware if you're a little sensitive to swear words then maybe this isn't the venue for you.

How many places can you find 2 really tasty curries with all the trimmings and a couple of drinks for under £15? No complaints at all, and the pub itself is interesting with many old photos and historical accounts on the walls. The excellent service is also worthy of note, and the staff were really efficient. The clientele in a Wetherspoons is maybe not everyone's cup of tea, but the Eight Bells is quite big; find a quiet corner, and you won't be disappointed.

If you want food that is ready made before it reaches the pub and is reheated , if you want to sit in a noisy pub amongest dovers finest drunks , then this is the place for you . On the plus side alot of Dover people seem to like it , but I'm not one of them .
