This is an absolute gem of a place in an idyllic setting with views to die for. We came here for a 1-night getaway from home and loved it. Our room was just so cosy and comfortable- attractive linen, cushions, lovely bathroom, lots of welcoming touches including a small caraffe of sherry, homemade biscuits.... We wished we'd stayed longer- but this place does get booked up fast! Absolutely wonderful breakfast- we had it at 9.30 and couldn't eat lunch till after 3! Spent the day walking along the whitecliffs park and samphire hoe before getting stuck on the M2 to get back home in the evening. Absolutely wonderful day!

Came here for a 1 night stay in London. 1 hour on the train, 10 mins in a cab and you are in heaven. Well-appointed rooms, with complimentary sherry and nespresso machine. Packed lunch with the best baked ham I have ever had, courtesy of lovely Wendy.

The owners were not there when we arrived, but had left a lovely hand-written card welcoming us. Nice touch.

Spent the afternoon in the garden enjoying the sun and the views, and didn't see another soul. Just what the doctor ordered!

For dinner, we took an hour-long walk to The Lydden Bell pub, which I have also reviews, and is worth a visit.

On returning, Wendy greeted us, along with friendly black labrador, Tilly, who, if you like dogs, is just swell.

On the morning of departure, we had the full breakfast, which as others have mentioned is epic. Local yoghurt, fruit and museli to start, then the full English brilliantly prepared by Neil and Wendy. Spent some time playing with Tilly in the wild flower garden before leaving in a cab they ordered for us.

They have won plenty of awards, and I could tell why. Immaculate rooms, food and grounds, as well as superb hospitality means I will be back for at least a 2-night stay.

Thanks Wendy and Neil, and give Tilly a hug from me!

My daughter and I stayed 2 nights early May and it was just perfect!! Wendy and Neil were the perfect hosts from the minute we arrived until our departure. Alkham Court is close to everything: Dover Castle, Leed's Castle and Canterbury Cathedral. Our breakfast was wonderful as were the views from the breakfast room and from our room, The Badger Room. The Badger Room was large, clean and well stocked. Thank you Wendy & Neil for welcoming us into your home and treating us like family!

We spent two nights with our children. It is simply wonderful. The view is spectacular, rooms are cosy and stylish, full of details ranging from cotton swabs to brandy. Beds and pillows are also very comfortable. Sauna and hot tab come with the package. There are splendid sites to visit, including Tenterden, Rye, Botany Bay, Winchelsea and the Dover Castle where you can explore the secret wartime tunnels used during the Dunkirk evacuation. Neil and Wendy are top-quality hosts and Pearl adds a special touch to the surrounding environment. The owners were very friendly and particularly nice (and patient) with our children. Several good fish restaurants are nearby. Internet was intermittent but it was not a major source of concern for us.

Breakfast is fantastic. Local yogurts (really tasty), local sausages, scrambled eggs, home-made muffins and scones, porridge, delicious bread, local jams, bacon, fresh fruits, cereals and juices! Lunch breaks are not needed.

Highly recommended!

It was great. It is really a five star experience. The owners' attention to detail is seen everywhere. The room are very cosy and quiet and comfortable, I just wanted to stay there forever. The views are much better than what you can imagine from photos. There is also a hot tub and a sauna, for ultimate relaxation, and we enjoyed our evenings in the Oak Room near a wood burning stove.

The owners are very nice and friendly. The breakfasts, with the views from the Oak Room, were great. I feel like the mere two nights we spent there were totally insufficient to appreciate the magic of the place.

The only detail which I wish would be different is an opportunity to have other meals, not just breakfasts, at the farm. Now you have to drive somewhere for a lunch or dinner. There are plenty of nice places around, the Lydden Bell probably being our favourite, and the owners were happy to book a table for us, but for a lazy guy like myself an opportunity to have some home made food without driving elsewhere would make Alkham Court Farmhouse the ultimate destination for holidays.

My boy friend and I stayed here for a couple of nights in April. The location was fantastic as was the room. It was my boyfriends first trip to the U.K. and we couldn't have picked a better place to stay. I could go on and on about the cleanliness, decor, and over all atmosphere of the place but that would take too long. Suffice to say we had the best time ever and will definitely be going back!
