Had an excellent return visit to Cafe Mauresque; the staff are cheerful and welcoming - the venue inviting and the food and service really very good.
It is a place with real atmosphere, having themed decor that appears authentic. Lighting may be a bit dim for some, but that adds to the atmosphere for me.
Service was prompt and un-fussy, with help provided with the menu if asked, but not forced.
Price is very good, with mains being about £15.
Only slight drawback is the toilets are on the top floor, so that's two flights from the main basement dining area, so you need to be reasonably mobile.
The building oozes old-world charm, so don't expect modern clearances, etc.
