Current live in Canterbury, a Studnet, and in past couple years travelling down here with my family we've vested the animal park a few times. I think it's key to remember it is an animal park and not a zoo. There is a difference. You get to see animals in more space, watching the elephants roam from 3 different positions throughout the day is great. When I've been here the animals seem to be a lot more active than the animals I've seen at zoos, I think they have more space and it just seems more natural. The passport is the best value, you pay the same price and get free admission for a year, great if you are going to be in the area a few times. All 4/5 times I've been the gorillas are doing something different. I like that there is less animals, but still as much ground to explore, more time to watch the amazing animals. Highly recommend, as long as you appreciate watching animals for more than 10 seconds before moving onto the next 'attraction'.
