This is advertised as a hotl but seemed to us to be a b'and'b. Whatever, it was excellent. Terrific location, about 100 metres from central Canterbury and opposite the ruins of Canterbury Castle.
Also, right on a main roundabout giving immediate access from London and Dover. however, there is no noise in the room, with the windows double-glazed.
The staff were very pleasant and helpful. Our room was impeccable and thoroughly renovated with only the unevenness of the floor reminding us of the age of the building. Onsite parking is adequate. The dining room and the breakfast were both excellent.
Recommended.

Castle House is just a few minutes walk to the centre of Canterbury and ideally situated for travelling further afield by car. Our room was thoroughly clean and comfortable with plenty of tea/coffee facilities in the room. Breakfast was excellent with a good choice.
The staff at Castle House are just lovely - very welcoming and helpful. We would definitely stay here again if in the area.

I decided to stay here last minute. Booked with Last Minute. Com who were unbelievably professional and helpful. I didn't have any expectations as I was last minute and was just happy to find somewhere. The feel of the place was warm and friendly. The room was very comfortable and well equipped. The location was excellent. The breakfast was fab. I can't fault ths place. I stay in hotels too often and while the premium was a little higher than usual, which was fair fr a 4 star, I can't fault this place.

Castle House is very conveniently located for walking into the city centre as well as for travelling out for day trips (my family and I travelled to Dover and back very easily). The staff is friendly and the accommodation is quite nice. My husband and I (30s) stayed in what is clearly the converted stables of the house and my parents (60+) stayed in the main house. Their room was larger with higher ceilings and, in reality, a triple room, as it had a spare single bed, though we paid the same rate for the night. The downside was that we stayed during the May heat wave. Whilst we didn't expect air conditioning, there also weren't fans to be found (which another B&B we stayed in did have, so could be reasonably provided.) It made for some hot nights but that's hardly within the hotel's control. Our stables room was a bit hotter, as the room was a bit smaller with lower ceilings but the fun of staying somewhere with charm was certainly worth it. The rooms were clean, comfortable and pleasant. The main house room had a grand charm to it which added to the experience. The breakfast was par for the course in the lovely main house dining room, with cold options as well as a hot menu made to order. Should we find ourselves in Canterbury again, we'd likely consider staying here again; however, we'd request a room(s) in the main house. We dined at Pinocchio's Italian just down the street - convenient and delicious for dinner - and happily happened upon Canteen in the city centre for lunch. We highly recommend both restaurants which are both reviewed on Trip Advisor and worth a look.

Room Tip: After doing some price comparison, we decided to book directly with the hotel and so gained a cheape...

Bearing in mind that this is a guest house this was a great place to stay. The staff were always smiling and helpful. There was ample free parking and the location is ideal for walking into the centre. We stayed in room 8 a large room on the ground floor with double glazing. The bathroom was ample with a bath and shower. The hangars were nice and the sort where the management assume you will not steal them. Another plus was the free WiFi in the bedroom
This building was a conversion from an old mansion but when it was done they did not try to crowd too many rooms in. Because of this we appreciated the space. This included large window sills in bedroom and bathroom giving plenty of room to put things on. I did not go upstairs so I cannot say anything about the other rooms.
Breakfast was served at the table and cooked to order and the quality of the ingredients and cooking was good.

Room Tip: Room 8 on the ground floor is quiet and large.

This our favourite place to stay in Canterbury and we go back 2 or 3 times a year.
The staff are wonderful and always remember us.
Excellent rooms for the price - we wouldn't go anywhere else.
