“Truly a tour of the realm!”
Reviewed July 22, 2012

Jane Martin's tour company is outstanding. She is a delightful person with a wonderful depth of knowledge about Canterbury and the Kent countryside and attractions. We had a memorable and (on our part) effortless 3 day tour and saw so many things we would never have discovered on our own. She maintains a beautiful car, planned our days around the English weather, and allowed us to see Chartwell, Hever Castle, Rye, Hythe, and the Sissinghurst Gardens--not too mention more incredibly beautiful countryside and villages than we could have discovered on our own. We lunched at quaint places with good food and she is tactful--if you want company or privacy or your packages carried or an umbrella--she thinks of everything. This is a tour you do not want to miss!

“A wonderful day in County Kent”
Reviewed July 6, 2012

My wife, daughter and I were met by Jane Martin at the cruise ship terminal in Dover. We had engaged Jane to take us to see the town in Kent where my family originated. Before we arrived, she had researched the town and my family as well as having arranged for us to have a private tour of the Norman church in the town, conducted by the Vicar himself. We were amazed that she would expend this amount of time and effort in advance of our visit. This was followed by a visit to Leeds Castle (fabulous) and lunch in a wonderful old pub. Jane is truly a gem and knows Kent like the back of her hand. Our only regret was that our time was much too short. You couldn't do better than hiring Jane to guide you anywhere in the British Isles (which she will do). Richard T.

“Most memorable experience of our summer in England.”
Reviewed July 2, 2012

This summer I studied in London through my university but wanted to take a weekend trip of the countryside with a dear friend. We chose Canterbury because of the historical significance it possesses but we didn't really know what other activities we could do besides tour the city. We found Jane after a couple of internet searches and right from the start Jane was extremely helpful in designing an itinerary to match what we were interested in. We began in the city of Canterbury, which Jane was very knowledgable about, and then continued onto Dover. Jane knew I was interested in the Pride and Prejudice-like scenery so she drove us through small villages that we would have never been able to see on a bus. We were able to see the White Cliffs of Dover and then continue onto Dover castle, which she made sure to show us the best views of. She was also very knowledgable about that area and it was evident how passionate she is about history and making it interesting for others to learn about it. We then continued on to Sandwich, a small ocean-side town that not many foreigners know about, which was fascinating to see and learn about. Everywhere she took us was absolutely beautiful. I don't think Jane has had many college-aged people using her services but she has a personality that can get along with any age group and was a blast to spend time with. I would highly recommend her to anybody wanting to see England beyond the typical tourist sites.

“The best way to tour in England! London to Dover via Canterbury”
Reviewed June 30, 2012

My husband and I were fortunate to locate Jane Martin to drive us from London to Dover by way of Canterbury Cathedral and many picture perfect Kentish villages and country byways. As a native of Kent, Jane is extremely knowledgeable about the area and her deep love and appreciation for Canterbury made the visit so meaningful. On the way to our cruise she took us to St Margaret's Bay where one gets the best view of the White Cliffs of Dover and to Dover Castle which stands sentinel.

She is not only a professional travel expediter, but she is a delightful and interesting person and travel companion. Perhaps the fact that she has lived in many other countries contributes to her sensitivity to the visitor. Because of her excellent service, we engaged her to pick us up in Dover after the cruise and drive us back to London. Once again, she was there when we arrived, provided coffee at our rest stop, and shared information on London suburbs, buildings passed, history, current theater, etc, while negotiating the heavy traffic on the way to our hotel. We highly recommend her.

“Fantastic, professional experience”
Reviewed June 24, 2012

As the family "travel agent," I had a problem. We wanted to have a leisurely day between leaving our cruise ship in Dover and taking the Eurostar to Paris. How could we do this without renting a car or taking a ship bus to London? I found Jane Martin and her company Tours of the Realm on TripAdvisor. She sounded perfect.....and she was!!!

Jane was professional and warm from the initial email. She assessed our needs and sent me several potential agendas for seeing Kent before delivering us to Stone Green Farm near the Ashford stop for the Eurostar. It was evident that she was knowledgable and experienced and would adapt to our interests. We arranged payment in advance through PayPal.

On the day we arrived in Dover, Jane was at the ship terminal with our name on a card, and her comfortable car was parked outside. We popped our luggage in the car and proceeded to have a delightful tour of the White Cliff area, quaint towns like Sandwich, a visit to Canterbury and the cathedral, and fish and chips for lunch at Woolpack Inn in Chilham. In seemingly no time, Jane delivered us to our B&B. Jane was a delightful guide who delivered just the right amount of commentary and chose scenic routes. She was a consummate professional, delightful conversationalist, and was enthusiastic and knowledgable regarding the area and sites we visited.
Our only regret is that we didn't have more time with her. In the event we visit England again, we will make time to arrange another tour with Jane.
