This hotel is charming and stylish with spacious rooms, and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was delicious, and I enjoyed using the pool. My only complaint was the low water pressure in the shower, otherwise my visit was excellent.

..for our annual weekend away. A lovely welcoming establishment, with such tasteful decor and the added treat of an indoor pool. Rooms are beautiful, and keep the period feel but at the same time stylish and warm. Breakfast superb! So helpful with sewing kit brought up to my room!

Room Tip: Think some of the single rooms might be a little on the small side. Also room 1 (which is a double...

We chose a hotel within walking distance of Canterbury Cathedral as we were attending our son's graduation ceremony. We liked the fact that there was a large car park where we could leave the car and walk into the city centre. We thought the price we paid for two double rooms was good and we found the hotel clean and comfortable. The only minor irritation was the length of time we had to wait for our cooked breakfast which seemed to be a problem on the day we stayed as we noticed others too had quite a wait. This being said, we would certainly stay at the hotel if we were visiting Canterbury again. Although we stayed in winter with snow on the ground and therefore did not venture into the garden, there were several tables and chairs there which would make a very pleasant setting for sitting out in the summer.

Lovely hotel with large car park (free) and 15 minute walk from Canterbury Town centre. Sited on the edge of the town, very quiet at night and within reach of all Kent in 30 minutes by car. Excellent value for money.

We were greeted warmly on arrival by Luke, a really helpful and charming member of staff. The whole place was really warm with open fires and that was really appreciated as it was minus temperatures for all our 4 day stay. Breakfasts were good and food available all day if required, but Canterbury is full of amazing eateries.

We booked a standard room which was comfortable and roomy with bath/shower en-suite for an unbeatable rate. We really enjoyed our stay and felt at home there, overall a great experience.

We stayed for 2 nights with our son, daughter in law and 2 young children. Very pleasant stay, very comfortable, excellent breakfast. Luke was so helpful, friendly and attentive - nothing too much trouble. Enjoyed making snowmen in the garden. Look forward to returning when the pool is back in operation and we can enjoy sun in the garden. Excellent location to centre of Canterbury - enjoyable walk.

Stayed here a couple of times in 2012. Both visits were pleasant. The rooms were spacious but the furniture and furnishings are dated. Not a problem as this hotel does portray itself as a traditional old fashioned hotel in a nice way.

It’s approximately 5 minutes away by taxi from the centre of Canterbury but you can easily walk it. It is situated in nice grounds just off a main road so you do hear some road traffic at night in the rooms at the front but the rooms at the back over-looking the lovely gardens are very quiet indeed.

Plenty of spaces for free car parking in the hotel’s car park which can be difficult in Canterbury.
Didn’t eat in the very formal looking restaurant but the breakfast was excellent on both occasions.

All the staff were very efficient and friendly as you would expect from a privately run family hotel.

I would have no hesitation in returning here and recommend this to anybody. But perhaps a bit on the expensive side as my large double bedroom costs £140 for the night for B&B

Room Tip: For a very quiet room ask for one at the back overlooking the gardens

We have just returned from the Ebury this weekend after arriving sat afternoon for 1 night. The hotel is very easy to find and there is plenty of free car parking. Reception staff very good and the dining room reading room and bar area is lovely. We was in room 12 on the second floor. Nice size room very clean and tidy could poss do with updating. No shower but bath taps have a hose on so you can wash your hair. Could do with a shower screen as things get a little wet. Approx 10 min walk to town down 1 straight road. Beds all clean very comfortable. Bar shut at 11?? Same man serving breakfast very polite but seemed to be to much for him. Breakfast lovely. Unreal gardens lovely old hotel. Was it worth £95 per room ....yes. Would I stay there again yes!! The ground floor is lovely but a few quid spent in the rooms they could prob charge a little more!!
