“Ancient woodland”
Reviewed June 15, 2014

Blean Woods are located just a couple of miles outside Canterbury. There are various well-signed posted walks in the woods; the shortest of which takes about 45 minutes along which dogs are permitted. Other walks dogs are prohibited. There are beautiful canopies of majestic ancient trees through which we had a lovely walk with birdsong.

“National treasure”
Reviewed May 26, 2014

Hundreds of acres of native broadleaf trees, with the most magnificent display of bluebells at this time of the year. The rare heath fritillary butterfly is a feature, as are the nightingales, woodcock, nightjar and a wealth of songbirds. A well defined network of public rights of way add to the pleasure of this place
