The first time going to the Steak and Grill it was lovely, really nice food, great atmosphere. However, the second time was very very poor. They forgot to bring out a starter and then tried to charge us for it later on. The food that was given to us was bland. The staff were pleasant but not very attentive. A bit hit and miss, would not reccomend this place for a special occasion.
Also very expensive for what it actually is.

We arrived at 5.30 in the evening for a meal before the panto at The Marlow Theatre. They have a very good value fixed menu with a veg and fish options. £9 for one course, £12 for two courses and £15 for three. The main menu and specials are very good as well, varied and imaginative. We had the goats cheese, beetroot and walnut salad and the ham hock terrine to start. The terrine was very good and the only fault I had with the goats cheese was it was a little dry and could have done with more dressing. Main course we had fish and chips, fried chicken linguine and I had the burger and chips. All were very good. We did not have time for a pudding as the waitresses were quiet busy so it was a little slow. However they were very friendly and helpful and I would rather wait and get freshly cooked food of good quality, and this was. We had three soft drinks and a small rose wine, two courses each and it came to £62. We will come again when in Canterbury.

Visited this restaurant for the third time and each time very disappointing . No atmosphere and not many customers for a Saturday evening.
Starters.......poor presentation and very small for price charged . When waitress asked if our food was ok, we mentioned that we weren't very happy with starters. Unlike an earlier review, we did tell them we weren't happy.
Main was just ok.. .. Decided we would never visit this restaurant again

Right next to the road for The Marlowe Theatre you would think they would be quick and serve good food to encourage return visits. Sadly not so! Order taken by 6:15 leaving an hour clear - served at 6:55 after having to ask if our meals were ready. Very average meals and skinny chips! Come on, take advantage of your position! Will definitely give this a miss in future trips to Canterbury
